hereis a know fact:  coldplay came after radiohead. after ok computer, many alternative bands popped up and made careers by sounding like radiohead. according to thom yorke, that is one of the reasons they changed their sound for kid a.

so, it is a fact that coldplay's sound is a direct derivative of radiohead's ok computer, albeit a more pop oriented version.

i hope this ends all the endless radiohead vs. coldplay arguments.

This song gives the the feeling of never quite reaching the climax you're looking for. As if something is desperately waiting to come next. That's what makes Radiohead so amazing, many of their songs leave you waiting until the end, and the end is the point of reflection you were waiting for.

@ThorirEy After Coldplay's 1st album they started to part ways in style anyways. Plus, Coldplay doesn't have the same kind of gripping intensity, but they are far more consistent and use instruments in far different ways

Every album and song and every note they record is the one THEY wanted. I get the vibe from Coldplay that they're more interested in "selling" than artistic integrity - overall. For that reason I respect and enjoy Radioheads music all the more. But like I said .. Coldplay isn't bad or anything and everyones got their own style etc
