@roopria246 With all due respect, may I say that this is absolutely not Nayaki Kanada; the great maestro shows the difference right away at 0.39 and a 0.59....think and in sargam 1.30 to 1.57...the essence is the two nishads and gandhars which makes it Meerabai ki Malhar...think of it instead as an amalgam of two gandharas, dhaivatas --- as in Ramdasi with suddha kanada.
@roopria246 So the clearest distinction between Nayaki and Meerabai should be as soon as Panditji goes into the second stanza to sing 'Dukh Harani Jag Jana Pratipalini'..N N R R S S S N S R S d n P....showing both the use of komal dha and shuddha ni...this also immediately distinguishes Meerabai ki Malhar from Ramdasi Malhar as the latter has the same notes and lakshanas except the komal dhaivat in the Darbari like descent. Nayaki does not have any form of Dhaivat , shuddha gandhar or shud ni.
@roopria246 hey roopria....raag nayaki kanada is basically S R g M P n P S n P M P g M R S (notation wise same as Darbari without Ati Komal Dhaivat). But Meerabai Ki Malhar is a prakar of malhar which goes as S M R P M P n D N S d n P M P G M P g M R S. The occurrence of the tonal cluster S M R P gives it the malhar raganga while it is further reinforced by the cluster n D N S. The beauty is in the Darbari like S d n P descent which gives a tirobhaba of the darbari flavor within the Malhar.
@roopria246 this is mirabai ki malhar ... it is a mixture of 3-4r ragas ... i could undersatand miyan ki malhar, durbar and ramdasi malhar ... i have heard of it for my guruji ... though he never played it in front of us he had mentioned about it .... search for kishoritai amonkars mira ki malhar ... m not able to find that ..
This raag is distictly different from Nayaki Kanada. The treatment of komal dha and shudh ga is unique in this raag. besides there is no shudh ga in Nayaki Kanada. Panditji has several superb compositions in this raga (Meerabai ki Malhar) including this one.
Pt. Ajoy Chakravarty is a great singer of Bhajan's like this one. In this respect he has a repertoire similar to the great Pt. Jasraj. I always enjoy listening to A.C's Bhajans. He also takes effort to explain his music to the audience. Thanks for posting: Subhajit Sen
@subhajit0 Thank you for your clarification....but i wonder it if does imply that he is ONLY a bhajani singer somewhat like that other great Sangit Martand Pt. Jasraj? By any stretch of standards this, I would submit in all humility as a performing musician, is a maha superb rendition of a bandish, which would be beyond the ken of many if not most chalu classical singers of today. Let us treasure our good fortune while we may, Sir. He's surely a national treasure just as Pandit Jasraj is!!

Does anyone know the lyrics to this song? From my understanding it sounds like the lyrics:
Stayee-
Jagata Janani Mata Chandi
Dukha Harini jaga jana Prati parini
Tero Karuna Apara
Antara-
Dhaiya Tumhari Bharani Najaiyai
Hai Sharaday Shubha Te bharaday
Karo Bhinna Para

So nice to see tabla is accompanied by Tanmoy Basu. Great team !! Great singing!!

It sounds like something that Miyan Tansen would sing. Such a delicate treatment to the swaras.

Low those low-toned tablas, sounds more authentic, divine, somber.
