  • Is this for real> They named their new vehicle SUX - and said it's an "American Tradition"/ lolololol - was it manufactured in Japan?

  • @possums1010 dumbass. it's from Robocop

  • Still got the factory sticker on it!! :D

  • Only the villains would drive it. Because being "GOOD" sucks.

  • nobody understands my name

  • Look what I got..... Cobra assault Cannon state of the art BANG BANG!!

  • 0:09 is that Eric Idle? Looks and sounds like him!

  • Actually betalk357, this commercial was mocking the horrendous Pontiac 6000 that was fortunately short lived.

  • What makes this commercial work for me is the dinosaur's eyes popping out and making that bouncing noise. Otherwise the commercial would be sort of just meh....

  • As somebody already ponted to the hubcap falling off the 6000 SUX, our cars fall apart too. From 1987 to 2011, for 24 years, we have been ultra-resistant to change or evolutionize our cars or a national grid of fuel efficient, mass public transport. And people wonder why the Big 3 is in deep financial trouble.

  • Don't get me wrong, this movie and this ad is great. However, subliminally, Paul Verhoven, when observing typical American cultures and subcultures in order to write this movie, brought to the forefront the stereotypes we Americans have boldly displayed for such a long time. That we love cars, so long as they are big, have reclining leather seats, that go really fast and get really shitty gas mileage. And it doesn't hurt to have cruise control and Blaupunkt stereos.

  • It just goes to show you what a piece of shit this car is, if you notice in the movie of course it gets 8.2 MPG which is very crappy, if you notice in one scene "Leon" bangs his hand on Clarenece's roof of his car (6000 SUX) the windshield mirror falls off and in one scene when "Louis" is chasing "Clarenece", the hubcap falls off, and the name "SUX" probably was intended to look like "sucks"...Haha but thast just me saying

  • leather seats n real shitty gas mileage

  • I actually have one of these cars

  • I always thought, as a kid, that the chap at 0:10 was Eric Idle from Monty Python. Obviously he isn't, but for a split-second I was confused as heck. Also, this is even funnier in the film, because the dinosaur just seem to pop out of nowhere (it's like WTF? What film am I watching?)

  • @AshleyMarkPomeroy (scrolls down) Oh yeah. I'm not the only one!

  • @AshleyMarkPomeroy I've just commented to that effect. Glad I'm not the only one!

  • Fast fwd to 2007 to present and look how this movie actually predicted how things in Detroit would actually end up! Wheres Murphy when U need him!

  • @effmunee Yeah and to do that, we need a cop who's dying and someone who's good with robotics.

  • it's an American tradition.

  • That's a fitting name for its impressively shitty gas mileage...

  • Arguably the one of the best scenes from Robocop. It's kinda funny how some people regard this as nothing more than a mindless action film, too bad they can't see the black humor and critical satire of the corporate 80's.

  • actually orion no longer exist mgm has baught

the rights to the films cattelogue but is still

got the orion pictures brand at the beginning.

  • if i release the hostages, will they even throw in a blaupunkt?

  • @m35a2 Robocop is owned by Orion. the owner of MGM.

  • Lol " the 600 SUX ( sucks) an American tradidion" lol they must be some ford owners

  • So they're saying the Pontiac 6000 sucks?

  • Are they trying to say that 6000 "sucks" ?

  • Sounds like a Toyota King Cab!

  • if really exist how much is expensive this car? (in usa dollars)

  • @velenorosso very cheap, like your english lessons! ha ha ha

  • this is sux

  • it ain't even worth a dollar! lol

  • Damn, 8.2 MPG. Even my bike gets better mileage.

  • Paul Verhoven is a friggen genius

  • It really 'SUX' up the gas, eh?

  • SUX is closer to SUV too.

  • the car certainly Sux.

  • its just a cutlass supreme

  • I love how the rear view mirror falls off when you slam the door.

  • @kobakommander That's it's best new feature!!

  • Robocop!

  • id def buy that

  • It was suppose to have a TURBINE engine, it never went past concept car.

The holes in the back were exhaust ports.

  • Love it lol. The car looked so cheesy. Lived up to it's SUX (sucks) name.

  • I want one , LOL !!!!

  • the 6000 SUX must`ve been an abreviation for SUCKS, well i guess its only funny if everyone else noticed that little pun, im pretty sure thats how they came up with the name SUX

  • @somexotherxguy

I think Ford provided all the vehicles for the movie, and the name was a sly dig at the Pontiac 6000.

  • Still got the factory sticker on it!

  • 8.2MPG in the '80s? Damn, even my 305ci '89 Firebird gets twice that much.

The 6000 SUX must have been damn fast! I want one.

  • "The 6000 Sucks Editions"

  • Throw in some Splatterpunks(Robo 3) and I'd buy it.

  • @HarryPotter3700 Throw in a Blaupunkt!

  • Watched yesterday Robocop and still I cannot stop laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The cars was not a GM... This was a Ford Thunderbird '86, calles as "Aerobird"... obviously with gadgets and parts to makes the car looks cyberpunk... 13km per gallon!!! so creepy!!! my Fiat Uno '86 does 13Km but per 2/3 litter (19,5 km/l)

  • No, the car was NOT a Ford. Yes, the 6000 SUX was a GM. It was a modified Oldsmobile Cutlass from the 3rd Gen platform ('73-'77).

  • "I want a car that gets really crappy gas mileage!!!"

  • Id buy that for a dollar

  • me i want a car that gets good gas milege

  • 8.2 miles per gallon!

An American tradition! I love it!

  • Throw in a Blaupunkt and we've gotta deal!!!

    ;-p

  • Damn, gets half the mileage of my late '80s V8 Firebird.

    I want one

  • we dutch do have a sense of humor, also anyone notice the dutch shell station burned down in robocop (lol)

shell gave permission to Paul Verhoeven to burn down gass station with their name on it.

and the entire movie pokes fun at american global warming (america is 5% of the world, but create 25% of the worlds pollution).

at least shell doesn't lie as much as their american competitors, and they actually know about the harm they are causing (that's why they supported this film)

  • yeah sure, keep telling yourself that, even though saving energy actually saves money.

unless of course you do it the bush way, and produce jet fueled tanks (lol)

  • I think it was supposed tobe about a make of Pontiac car, since all the cars were Fords, It essentially means the Pontiac 6000 sucks. Get it?

  • Is that Eric Idle at 0:09?

  • @DrewtheMew Man I have been wondering that very same thing for YEARS, ever since I first saw Robocop!

  • @primatebuddy

It has to be. Its his voice and it looks like him

  • @Xerock sounds maybe but that looks nothing like eric idle

  • @johnqpublic912

    Oh yes it does.

  • I'd buy that for a dollar

  • you win

  • Hmmmm. Allosaurus?

  • i thought this was based on the ford thunder bird since all the cop cars are fords as well

  • 77 Olds Cutlass sedan, with a lot of custom work.

  • Does that say 82 or 8.2 MPG? 'Cause 8.2 is worse than a HUMMER.

  • 8.2 MPG! lol

6000 SUX is really fast car, available leather seats, really shitty gas mileage,

  • How about cruise control, does it come with cruise control?

  • @takutaq 6000 SUX was referred to the Pontiac 6000.

  • @takutaq Well, when your product clearly spells "sucks" of course it has shitty mileage.

  • @takutaq Don't forget cruise control, and they'll even throw in a Blaupunkt.

  • This commercial is from the movie: Robocop haha, very nice to watch it again.
