  • Reminds me of the X men theme from the 90s :)

  • Amiga was the future, now we are in the past, because it has gone backwards, without Amiga life has turned to shit.... Almost every Amiga game was fun and made ya laugh with excitement and you never wanted to turn it off, I took days off school just to play Hybris and listen to the awesome music. Don't get me wrong I like my Xbox360 and Black ops etc but I don't play the 360 half as much as I played the Amiga. There was even well over 3,000 games for Amiga not including public domain games etc.

  • Great job. While I like Xp, you are right that back then each computer had a unique identity.

  • After listening to Bond perform "Explosive", I came back to watch this video. I think it's very well made, just sorry it cuts off at the end.

  • Maybe you mean "Remember when everything was new", modern computers can do that stuff and much more, but its no longer "new" thing, so there isn't the old excitement or the "feeling of" fun anymore.

  • @xhackeranywhere

well, for me, the fun was doing all kinds of stuff with poor hardware. kinda hip, yet elegant.

  • @xhackeranywhere You don't appear to appreciate how fun the amiga was. It wasn't just about running the latest software on it. It was more about how rewarding it was to spend time playing with what the Amiga could do. My personal experience was that I spent more time getting to know how impressive the Amiga hardware was, as opposed to these days where I spend most of my time discovering annoyances with x86 hardware

  • @xhackeranywhere

Remember when computing was *fun*. Now computers are tools, a means to an end. You might have fun watching a video on youtube, or you might have fun playing WoW, or you might have fun writing a blog, but back then the fun was in tinkering with the computer itself, trying to see what could be done with it in hard/software.

  • @xhackeranywhere Well one of the fun things were pushing the standard hardware to do incredible things,

Nowadays kids won't be likely to do programming nowadays on custom PC's, I stil make my Amiga 500 cry doing things way beyond it capabilities :)

  • Lol, I like the way how they mounted these huge harddrives right on expansion cards (0:52)

  • @ZXRulezzz I still have a western digital of 10MB in my Amiga 2000 and it still works, and the Amiga as well. ;)

At least stuff in those days were made to last. :P

  • @LogiForce86 I also have an Amiga, it's A600HD and it still works too, and it's upgraded with Kickstart 3.1, 512Mb CF card, 1Gig HDD, PCMCIA LAN-card, and... 6Mb of RAM :D (4Mb FastRAM + 2Mb Chip RAM)

I like how keyboard-based Amigas didn't required any cooling, so they're almost quiet (mine HDD stops when not used in 5 min) :)

  • AH - Deluxe Paint.... Fabulous... I still have 2 Amiga 2000s ... and they still work! I love em!

  • That was totally amazing! I would definately buy an Amiga if that advert had gone out! Only Amiga! Good work.

  • Nice video but can you do the same with current Amigas? Please do it with OS4 pictures, videos, programs....

  • @elwoodfr

    try going to a-eon.com

Watch the media about the Amiga X1000.

  • @Hiraghm I read again my comment and it was quite strange. My idea was it would be nice if the same video could be done with current games, applications i.e. creating a brand new commercial video to promote AmigaOS 4.x

  • @elwoodfr

    Would be good :-)

  • @elwoodfr

Surely you've seen my videos already. If not just click my name. ;D

  • I have to mention the last sentence from the CD32 advert: "The world will never be the same again."

  • I got my first computer, (a PC) in 2001. My swcond, (also a PC), in 2007. After seeing this AMIGA Commercial, all I can think is: I WANT ONE, I WANT ONE!

AM I TOO LATE? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE AMIGA?????

  • Yes my dear friend your really late. Some bad Guys have taken Amiga to grave.

But remember dead said, live longer.

Bill Gates, get your warm clothes on, its going to be really coooolll

  • Amiga is still alive and still very friendly and very fast. Look for my videos or browse the website of ACube Systems for details about the current hardware.

  • @UTAOUB Umm..yeah, your a little late. Commodore went belly up in 92 or 93 and Amiga had languished from one owner to the other since then. Google "History of the Amiga" if you want to know more.

Hyperion is trying to bring it back in one form or another but, without a lot of funding, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Another company is trying to design a more up to date Amiga computer called the NATAL but like Hyperion, they don't have a lot of money to pull it through.

  • No, but it`s no longer the worlds dominating computer,

so you gonna pay it a quite a lot and will have not that many apps and games

on it (apart from emulating old Amiga)

    Check Acube Srl Italy

  • Great old times...C=64 & Amiga 600 ex owner.

  • Amiga 600, brings back great childhood memories

  • Only AMIGA Makes It Possible !!!

  • The king is dead. Long live the king.

  • Fantastic! But I have to agree, it ends rather abruptly.

"Remember when computing was fun" is almost as good as my favorite motto:

    "Amiga - today's technology... yesterday!"
