  • anyone else noticed that one way sign?

  • was waiting for you to hydroplane and roll the car

  • Subaru, yeah baby!!!

  • Orgasmic car !

  • youneed the practice..

  • thats a sick looking sti, love the rally lights

  • i tried drifting in my car but i think my car doesnt ahve enough accelration for it to start drifting or something and its a autpmatic front wheel so....haha but when i get another car sometime ill get a lancer or a 350z or a subaru gotta drift on it!!!!

  • @2cool0 your a retard..... you cant drift a fwd ... let alone an automatic..... fuckin ricer

  • @wolegib really? fuck you dipshit youre a dumb ass you can definatly drift with a fwd, its not impossible....and you can definatly drift with an automatic apparently you dont know shit about drifting bcus you saw just saw tokyo drift and thats all you know

  • @2cool0 seriously buddy? your going to call me out on a movie.... when you think you can drift a fwd.... you can go really fast and rip the e-brake as hard as you can and you get a power power slide... but you cannot drift a fwd, since you think you know everything, go google it :) , tell me what you find so you can see for yourself and feel like an idoit,. the only drivertrains that can drift are awd and rwd.

  • @wolegib

You can drift any drivetrain. Whether it's AWD, RWD, FWD, manual or automatic. Trust me, I've drifted in all of them. Maybe once you mature, get a license, and learn a few things about cars you'll agree with me.

  • @jakubgt1 - agreed. Rally drivers have been 'drifting' way before the Japanese delivered Tufu and found the art of drifting and came up with a term for it.... you car loses traction, your drifting... i see powersliding more of a out of control skid making the car coming to a near stop, sort of like you do on a skateboard... but that's just my take on the term.

  • @wolegib haha, you just called ripping the ebrake a powerslide...shows how little you know about drifting...especially in FWD. man, why are there so many fanboi wanna be keyboard drifters who keep saying on rwd drifts? where did they come up with this?

  • @2cool0 also you need certian gear ratios to succesfully drift, in manual you down shift when your about to go around the turn so your rpms shoot up and you get more power/torque to start and keep the drift going, where in an auto you cant do that unless you got paddles or tiptronic... and still, idk if that would work still.

  • @wolegib - yes you can, i do it all the time.... with help from the hand brake of course, but the car drifts and it's an automatic.

  • actually 4 people did it and wrapped their car around a pole... one was a truck >.>

  • looks like a very fun activity. Funny how there is a stop sign before the turn

  • I'm buying a wrx soon. Is it safe to do this for the suspension?

  • @david08106 why would it be bad for the suspension?

  • @cody5002005 I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

  • @david08106 its not bad for the suspension i mean i have an STi but i dont do this as I wouldnt like to buy tires all the time and mine is babied. You can jump the cars and theyll be fine lol

  • @cody5002005 - yea, never had suspension issues... the stiffer the struts the less body roll you'll get, so less tire rub, etc... but it's no different then taking turns fast with 4 fat friends in the car... mine hits small jumps and the bumper scrapes the ground, it's still good. though i got to say the STI"s 04-05 by nature have clunking rear struts, sounds like a straw being pushed in and out of a soda cup, but they are nice and stiff.

  • @bacalhau75 haha yeah i have an 04 and it clunks in the rear. Its cause theres no grease getting into the struts. There plenty of how tos on to fix the problem though never bothered though cause im buying coilovers next.

  • nice job :)

  • RIP THAT E-BRAKE, YO

  • Lovely car. Good skills, keep going ;)

God bless and drive safe (safe doesn't mean slow as a turtle!)

  • good job

  • would be easier in a skyline

  • did u grab the E-brake?

  • @EtherliteG580 - yes, ... i'm thinking about installing an hydraulic one to make life easier and more fun.

  • @85cc144 yeah fwd is real easy

  • what car is that?

  • @nasdreas - 2005 Subaru Impresa WRX STI, or known as just an STI

  • dude i want your car!

  • @fucaduc95 - get a job and one day you can buy one... by then there will be cooler cars out and you'll get what's in style then. assuming you are 10, when i was 10 i wanted a Audi Quattro Rally car, to the Renault Super 5. Lancia Detas were cool, but looking back now they were boxy and ugly.... but at least FFWD 30 years later, i ended up getting a production fun rally car, so i didn't dream to far from when i was 10 :)

  • @bacalhau75 acctually im 17 and i have liked these subarus for a while now. i just really like the color with the lights combination.

  • practice makes perfect, awesome video. thanks for sharing1

  • @Stronachh - yea it was the first time i attempted this in the Subaru.. of course in my head i was going to come 1" from the curb, but after hitting the grass on teh first time, i decided to stay away from it.

  • @bacalhau75 you gotta get that SUV outta the way. i hate it when this happens. messes with the lining :)

  • awesome driving!!!!

  • @85cc144 fwd and rwd are a lot easier to do it in

  • 8 people think hand-braking on gravel is drifting.

  • now do a right hand turn

  • practice make perfect....hehehe

  • good stuff...makes me miss my days of practicing and drifting...all our spots in sacramento got shut down...mostly hit n run spots now....cant spend more than 10min at a spot before you get busted....

  • Subaru STi?

With an AWD, you don't really have to control the gas, you just floor it and control the car with the steering wheel (and with the brake pedal, as with old subaru's the turbolag is pretty big, so left foot braking to balance the car's torque is essencial).

But nevertheless, this is a really good video. Shows clear progress trough trial and error. Very nice!

  • Is your car tuned for rally or just for club ?

  • @hashrulsubzero - when this video was shot it was tuned out of the box for beat on Subaru every day... now it's tuned to - 4 wheel burn outs all over the place.

  • this guy made a subaru look hard to drive

  • two words : you suck

  • @Alechandr0 At least he better then you :P (not argue here) for learning to powerslide with 4WD car

  • 0:33 oversteer=kicking the ass end out

  • @tobymonster10 - yes, wanted to know what the DCCD controller did or acted like with teh different settings.

  • feint drift....

  • You play to much GTA.

  • so were u pushing the clutch in and using e brake? or just flicking it one way then the correct way and smashing the throttle?

  • This video showed me that practice makes perfect, Great example!

    Nice drifting btw.

  • how much longer before the cops come lol

  • I love subaru wrx sti.

  • I have never drifted a awd looks to be a bit tricky. I like my rwd.

  • Damn i wanna do this

  • What light bar do you have on? Ive been looking at the Rally inovation bars.

  • @spectre4130 - the light bar is from w(dot)rallylights(dot)com. pretty decent, two things suck on it - the paint will fall off within months, and the tabs are a bit spaced back, so if you get HELLA 4000FF, the harness digs into the bumper. other than that, it's a cool bar, with quick release pins so you can take it on and off. it also mounts with existing holes and screws, so no drilling required.

  • more like powersliding...

  • jóhogy esőbe megcsinálod!!!!!!

  • Man that subaru is awsome. You really know what cool is!

  • what gear were you in?

  • @crashmasher - 2nd gear. now that i understand the DCCD controller better, i should have tried it with a setting in the green lower lights. it gives more traction to the front tires.... the settins above, were more traction to the rear wheels.

  • thumbs up

  • you got it boy!! thumbs up!

  • applause

  • applause

  • fuck yeah!

  • lol great shit bro. all you have to do now is try doing it between the curb and the patch of grass lol but great driving though

  • @zachsdirtbike that would be awsome - but there's a sign in the way, in the event i miss... and the curb.

  • congratz dude

  • pretty good. but not one time did i notice the you counter steered. so how it looks to me is that you just entered the power slide and counted on the proper speed taking you all the way through. in few tries before (when you "failed" to go through the whole turn), you could have counter steer and it could have worked. but nice videos, i watched most of what you have on YT.

p.s. nice bumper with fog lights.

  • just takes some practice.... and the money to buy new tires

  • @thewhitebrazilian its wet outside, the tires are barely being harmed noob

  • @idk1234idk88 - yea, sort of true. i still went through a set in 2 years.

  • @bacalhau75 hey man one question, where you get the foglights?? not the ones on the grill but the bumper ones

  • @EthansOpinion92 - the pods are from rallyinnovations, but they stopped making them awhile back because they couldnt get enough orders in. I asked if they had 'runts' around and mine are it... a bit pitted and the tabs deformed, but i was able to make them work. the lights are PIAA 520's. you can try to call them up and ask if they are now making them, or if they can sell you a runt set.

  • @bacalhau75 wow thanks man been looking for year for some bigger fog lights for my 05 wrx. know of anyother ones that look stock like these??

  • @thewhitebrazilian - normally i get free or used tired. this time i bought some new ones but any big city sells used tires for $30 a tire.

  • Yeah, that slick I coulda done it in my mom's 82 oldsmobile. RWD or the hand (foot) brake. Don't see this as drifting.

  • nicee

now do it and keep the nose of the car next to the grass

  • 5 ppl did this and wraped their car around a pole

  • now do it on dry ground

  • @itscody317 he would tear the tyres apart on dry ground.

  • @B789c that is one of the consequences of drifting

  • @itscody317 - there's a video of me doing this on dry ground... i can't fint it, i'll upload it soon.

  • @bacalhau75 grats for making the drift. All progress is good progress

  • @itscody317 I'd say it's easier on dry ground.. harder to spin out. You can carry more speed through the corner.

  • ZZZZZZZ (yawn)

  • hahai like this video man its cool! nice drift :)

  • that was pretty cool

  • HAAHAHAHA your friend is psychic. I have no idea how he predicted when will be "it"

  • thats what i love about subarus

  • how can u do that so much and not get the cops called on you

  • yeah everything just takes some practice. like when you first learn how to drive stick.

  • like a pro

  • that was fuckin awesome!!!!!!

  • Dude come into the corner SLOWER haha

  • sick nasty toward the end

  • nice job man.... i bet lots of people will practice this kind of stuff till perfection. the bad thing is you need a good car, a empty space, lots of gas and your own mechanic:))

  • @Indanielsan1 and a couple pair of tires haha

  • nice wish my 1.8t quattro can do dat need more hp

  • Subaru, rain and no traffic... Still took you all that time to get it right !!

    fair enough i guess!

  • that was so sick it had the FLU!! but its an sti you dont need to slide...but its still fun to..

  • should move the crv outta there and come in wider

  • Those last ones were filthy (in a good way) ! haha

  • wow that was sick

  • haha mad props for the portuguese im brazilian =]...but ugh i want to learn how to drift on my car 1 its auto 2 never had practice on drifting but everything else im good at

  • yeah., ur basically supposed to let the car drift, dont fight the front wheels

  • ive put a vid of my attempt in my car. it is hard to get throttle corectly balanced especialy in the dry

  • good stuff. yes, it's all different, different tarmac in different areas, tires make a difference... the current crappy tires i have now, seem to hold better then the better tires, but the sidewalls suck, so when i try a drift, the tires roll...

  • Very last drift was the best. You didnt take a massive counter swing turn and hold the ebrake long

  • Some advice? Pull the Ebrake hard and fast, dont hold it, but your car is AWD... so its kinda hard to drift properly

  • if i hold the Ebrake, the steering wheel becomes stiff, so i tap it enough to get the car to get sideways.

I'll try it again soon... and getting closer to objects.

  • just tap it, or built enough speed and change down while doing a scandinavian flick, after put the power down and regulate the throttle.

don't forget to synchro the gearbox or you'll bust it

    ps: are you portuguese?

  • YEs i'm portuguese.

  • hehe ;)

  • xDDD

Braga. Zona norte do país onde passou o melhor rally do mundo ....

    presumo k sejas do norte

  • xD yy

  • great car. great drifting. looks like hella fun.

  • dude back off to get the thing sliding then power out of the oversteer, obviously not as simple as it sounds but yeah thats the idea you wanna be trying

  • Dude you are great. But you should but some warnings because we don't want to see the wrong people trying this. Someone might get hurt...

    5/5 great job!!!

  • u sucks man ;) but good to practise away from the streets.

  • Wow, I wish there was parking lot like that for me to drift in.

  • this car seems 10x better and 20x more practical than that little civic but how many times did you try that before you got that almost perfect drift in the end of the video

  • well this car also cost 2x as much as the civic... i could barely afford the civic back then, and now i can barely afford this one because i own a house as well, but you get what you can afford right?

most of the shots are in the video, so maybe 10 times or so. i hit the place once or twice before and tried it a couple of times, but had no camera, so i waited for a good day.. if i was going to get a ticket, i rather do it on the day i had it on camera... but cops never came :)

  • good progress you did there... but this drifting is just for fun... drifting in real racing is used to turn faster and simultaneously facing directly the exit of the turn, if you know what i mean... so try to keep the car nearer the inner side of the turn... like, try to steer more inside like you were going to hit the inner border and then steer the other way...

  • your great at drifting and the thing were "better run im out of control" was funny , im 16 and im irish . but my first car i hope to get will be a vw golf v12 or ford escort mk2 a 67 perhaps i was wondering is that the car you have now or is it the orange honda both nice cars you have great taste in cars. but great video 10/10

  • shit man you got it

  • is this where i think it is? quakerbridge driving coarse in NJ? that would be kinda ironic. This places looks exactly like it.

  • yes, it is... hey, you test your driving skills there when you are 17... and you go back (exactly twice as that) later to test other moves you learn =P

  • damn. how do you do that? what to do first?

  • first, tighten your ebrake, and the rear pads, make sure they lock up.

then you yank on the ebreak a bit making the car go sideways, then you floor it. you might have to let off the gas here an there to make the turn perfect.

on Subies, you can also play with the DCCD controller which allows you to play with where you want the torque to be at, in this case i had it on the bottom setting most of the time. (which i'm guessing means 90/10) <- it's a guess... correct me if i'm wrong.

  • alright. thanks, i'll probably try this in about a month or two. i should do some research thoughhh..

  • 80/20 for sti

  • is DCCD just for sti's? because i have a 03 wrx.

  • nice job.. RESPECT!!

  • Niiice!

But you get soooo close to those curb! it would cost alot to repair your car if you had it the curbs

I love your car its my dream car!

    Great amelioration trought the video!

I have a fwd car and I love to powerslide in the snow!

but the grip suck compare to a awd!

  • practice make perfect/im only 14 years old but im crazy about drifting

  • No bro kol I meant the 06 are 41 front and 59 back and the 04/05's are 35 front 65 back

  • I actually really like this view, its not just some jack ass drifting, but it goes to show that it takes practice to drift. And this guy isn't some jerk, and also isn't some newbie either. View nice video!! I like ur car!

  • ah! thanks. i'm the guy driving the car... like you said, i could have just posted the success video and be like i do this all the time and it was easy, but i figured it would be cooler or others trying out some Ken Block stuff the progress in getting there.

  • looking smooth towards the end

  • I'll give you 5 stars. Looks like you had fun.

  • yes... the tires got so bald that even on dry pavement i couldnt get grip... now i got crappy H rated freebies and they suck butt

  • wow cool i hope to learn drifting soon haha

  • Bachcal or whatever ur name is sry...the it is 35-65 split on the 04-05 the 06 has a 59-41 split...but when u drive in the automatic setting u don't know what ur car is putting to the wheels but it tramsfers accordingly...unless its under intesnse stints of acceleration where it puts it to 50-50 otherwise u don't know how ur car is splitting it unless it in manuel

  • ok cool. so you mean mine is 35 in the front and the 06's are 59 up front? thanks for the advice.

  • is yours an 05/04 if so yup its a 35 front 65 rear split the new 06-07 are 41 up front 59 rear

  • you are killing your sti

    nice though

  • Pretty nice for an AWD car. and at first it looked like you were just going to damn fast lol.

  • Sick ass bov sounds sweet

  • just changed the plugs and they were F'ing black!! i can thank the BOV for that... it's an adjustable one too!!

  • put more power to the front wheels and you probably wont drift out so far. Works for me. Might need more torque over stock though to get it to work

  • cool, i got new tires today, i got grip again!! i tried the front setting and yes, it felt like it pulled inwards more (on bald tires on the rain)... i'll keep trying!!!

  • Love your subi man. I'm new when it comes to these kinds of cars so maybe you can tell me what, DCCD does, sounds like some form of traction control?

  • i read about the DCCD controller for awhile when i first got the car and coudlnt find a straight answer. the easiest answer i got in the past is to make the car RWD... but that's not really it. the car is always AWD, but the way i understand it, you can choose where to put the torque at. i believe the 05 is set at F35/R65, if i'm worng i'm sure someone here will correct me. on of the settings of the DCCD is to lock to 50/50, and i believe the one i use is at R90/F10.

  • good job overall :) now try taking it where you can't see the curb your actually making the turn around :P

  • thanks... i switched the tires around, the car doesn't drift to the left now?? it only goes right. i've come closer to the curb a few times, but remember - i brake i pay - Ken Block brakes it, everyone laughs, Ken goes home =D

  • It was pretty nice at the end..is it stock?

  • yup, out of the box fun!!

  • wow, that's impressive.

what exactly were you doing to drift?

  • lol. if it wasnt wet, bye bye tires. SO ALL HAIL WET NESS! dont forget the civics. lol

  • i just saw this car in person today, it's amazing

  • nice job mate :)
