Streetlight Manifesto > catch 22 > Reel Big Fish. All fucking amazing bands..i just don't like how reel big fish just keep brass instruments usually, and the vocals sound generic to me. Still fucking great though. This is an OPINION. like all of yours, so shut the hell up and enjoy what you're listening to..Fools.
While Streetlight Manifesto are my favourite band Catch 22 come second. And I am talking about new catch the songs are still good and unique for the genre and lyrically they are still a good band but they get dumped on by people because Kalnoky used to be in them. Give them a break they're good.
catch 22 better than reel big fish? are you a moron or what?
reel big fish has more success and a number 1 single.
the only good album catch 22 has is written by tomas kalnoky who left the band.
reel big fish released turn the radio off in 1997 which is an AMAZING album.
reel big fish still tours constantly and catch 22 is on the verge of not touring at all. so you can get your digestive system fixed because everything coming out of your mouth is shit.
Lady Gaga and other pop shit has more success than RBF. But that doesnt mean that she is better than RBF. Every Catch 22 album is interesting exept the last one "Permanent revolution". But RBFs albums are monotonous. So fuck off and take your butthurt with yourself.
@skaskaster lady gaga and pop shit is music that doesnt so much sell out, but it would be considered selling out, i dont know how to explain i guess i think its more marketed. catch 22 has catchy hornlines and thats it and they say they they are about playing live shows, when anyone can tell you, reel big fish put on a better show than catch 22 by a landslide. catch 22 like i said dont even do much any more, a few shows here and there, but reel big fish is still out there putting out great tunes
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Permanent Revolution was the best Catch 22 album since Keasbey Nights. This song is pretty catchy too I guess.
wouldnt it suck if you were a member of catch looking at their vids on youtube. every single video has an arguement about catch 22 vs streetlight. and their are always way more people saying streetlight are good and catch are shit. just stating the obvious.. but how much would the get at you if you were in their position. they have to live in the shadow of kalnoky...
streetlight > catch, but catch are alright. this is like one of the best songs on dinosaur sounds and would be one of the worst on somewhere in the between
i think it's not 3rd wave...they are the 4th wave generation of ska.....coz the 3rd wave belongs to mighty mighty bosstones no doubts and those ska bands.....catch 22 is the 1st then next is streetlight manifesto....they had a fight or misunderstanding i bet....so that's how streetlight manifesto born........that's all i know...but correct me if i'm wrong then....thanx! ska ska ska!
@NiQui101 i wouldn't say that catch 22 is 4th wave ska. fourth wave is more skacore and angrier ska like voodoo glow skulls, the junk or also capdown was...
@NiQui101 you are stupid. ska bands seem to be absent in mainstream every other ten years, so if you pay attention to the pattern, catch 22 is a 90's band. they are 3rd wave. streetlight came up and basically, the pattern dies after catch 22. but if you are going to bring up 4th wave it starts with streetlight.
@M15CY oh...so u're the great storyteller? well good to hear! callin me stupid makes me say u're the dumbest alive who reacted to my post...wew.....that's why people like u don't grow old....rather they die young for being arrogant! tsk.tsk.tsk.....have u red "correct me if i'm wrong?" u don't have to be mean....we listen to the same music....ska ain't about being arrogant but being peaceful! damn! put it on ur head! carve it for u to remember!
Catch 22 are in my opinion similar sounding bands but both good in their own unique way. When I wanted some hard punk ska, I pull out the catch 22, when I feel like some heavily produced ska music, I break out the Streetlight.
Both amazing bands and wouldn't even really bother comparing them.
Streetlight and catch 22 are under the same, more of less label or somethin, they started a side band under the name of Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution check em out
Anyone bashing rbf is underage and should go play with AIDS.

this band was fuckin awesome up untill their last album.
dinosaur sounds is a very underrated album. alot of people dont like this guy's voice, but i think it fits their sound on this album perfectly.
think about it. if tom or whoever the fuck that dude was who sang on 'alone in a crowd', sang on this album, their voice just wouldnt fit the music

Kevin Gunther is just so sad to look at these days.
An okay performance of a decent song from a mediocre album from a band inevitably and permanently in the shadow of the talent that has left it.
