When my friend asked me what this film was about, the best way I could describe it is "'The Incredibles' for adults. All joking aside, what I love most about this film (besides the incredibly intricate storyline) is how 'real' everything is. It isn't like 'Superman' or 'Batman"; all the characters are so much deeper than that. Anyone brave enough to become that kind of vigilante would drive themselves batshit insane, and I think the movie does a pretty good job of depicting that.

@TenthChessMaster The comic book ended with Adrian transporting a giant octopus/alien creature into the middle of new York so the people thought they had to join together to stop the alien invasion as opposed to Dr. Manhattan. Same idea in both endings but the octopus required a bit more background and a few extra scenes that would have made the movie to long.

You can get away with more in books because people will make it work in their head even with pictures but aliens are hard to do in films because it's easy to become silly. That's why a lot of people didn't like the ending of the last indiana jones. Snyder changed it to appeal to the audience who were first experiencing watchmen via the movie so the aliens don't change their opinion of the story

What bugs me are two things: 1.) That the rest of the movie is so fucking amazing and 2.) that Snyder claimes that his movie is very faithful to the book, when it really isn't.
