  • BIG CATS ARE NOT PETS

  • Offcourse how can he forget this Two nice Gays they are like his Mothers

  • Wonderful, beautiful story - and what amazing men they were to do the right thing and engineer this lion's return to his rightful place. Makes me cry

  • lol why does christian's story remind me of the lion king

  • @shabehpersia21 it did reminded me of lion king too haha maybe because Christian is similar to Simba. They both grew up in an environment away from home (one with a pig and a meerkat, the other with humans) after that they both got back to reality and adapted their new lives.

  • why the hell couldnt i have been born in the 60s? then i could have grew up in the seventies instead of this shitty time. anyone ever seen terminator 2? with the boy and how he acts? well thats what i want!

  • AHHHHH I WANT A MUTHAFUCKING LION. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-AAAAAA

  • it was time to let go. :')

  • i guess he got lost at madagascar

  • @teoxs37 to put it simply his pride moved away from the rehab camp he was from for more game to hunt, which he may or may not have survived, given that he was wounded by other wild lions before and had to be treated for it.

  • 5 dislikes are from people who never saw their lion friends again :(

  • making "cigarettes". ; )

  • i ove lions

  • I want a lion cub. But I would have to do the same as they did eventually, I couldn't keep it. It would be cruel :(

  • The lion don't do childlish things anymore :( T.T

  • I remember seeing this programe. They bought the Lion from Harrods. I very much doubt will animals are sold there anymore.....good times ;)

  • why didnt they saw christian again?....

  • lol what if mufasa came instead and not christian would be a shitty last moment

  • They did do the right thing. I am amazed because a lot of people would have kept him and capitalized on him for as much profit as possible. Instead, they did what was right and gave him his freedom. This story always makes me cry....cry for all the lions, tigers, elephants, etc that are exploited away and killed in the name of the almighty dollar. I wish more people respected mother nature and all of her creatures. The world would be a much more beautiful place.

  • gosh lions and so friendly but I HATE WHEN FREAKING PEOPLE HUNT THEM WHY DO THE HUNT LIONS TIGERS WHY give my a thumbs up if you think i am right like why and the lion is so sweet and the people to be friends with a lion you should be the best thing that should happen in your life

  • 3 peoples do not have feelings

  • This video is amazing christian is beautiful and i think christian was very excited to see him but I believe the hugs the affection was his way of saying thank you. whether we are in the 70's or not the risks back then are the same risks that we have today.

  • It's really sad to know that you're never going to see your friend again, but it has to be a really happy moment knowing that you did the right thing. Honestly this story always make me feel emotional. We'll probably never see individuals like George Adamson, Ace, and John again.

  • Makes you sad...and wonder what ever happen to him

  • I wish I had a lion.. :'(

  • I also used to visit lions in Africa, then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • @thomas0504 I can't help but feel this is a skyrim reference! love it ahahah

  • The 3 dislikes fool were probably eating by a lyon soon after they posted...

  • @rammsesV whats a lyon

  • @yeti576, Well My "Amerikan friend" a "Lyon" is a "Lion" ( Felidae) born in Lyon France, It is a special kind of " lyon" such as yourself. Should you have any more questions and concerns, please contact me again.

    farewell.......

  • @rammsesV i still dont understand

  • @yeti576, well lets just say "he' is a lion as well.... lyon and lion are the same.... capisci?

  • @rammsesV nope

  • @yeti576, goggle "Lion" then read... Good bye Kid, I ran out of words from my English lexico, so I can no longer reply to your comments or questions you might have in the near future...

  • He looks wild, a real lion. Far cry from what he'd have ended up had he been sold to anyone else in the world--hunter's fodder at some hunting "reserve," stuck in a zoo cage the rest of his life? I love what these people did for this lion, and I love seeing the videos of him--so inspiring.

  • My question is who are the 3 dislikes on this?

  • He just got up and went to sit somewhere else....uh, he's a kitty! duh.

  • what if a poacher got him, and hes dead now :(

  • @TheShannonMontana He is definately dead now. Lions, even in captivity, only live for about 16-18 years on average.

  • Can't believe he's dead mow :'(

  • this will make chuck norris cry

  • @Primer9 Hurray his tears cure cancer, its a good thing all around.

  • I know, in the 70's you could spend time with full grown panthers and lion at the wild parks in the cages with the animals, they raised them with dogs and the dogs stayed in the cage with you while you played with the big cat. Man, their paws are strong!

  • so glad i didn't get rick roll'd

  • i can't wrap my mind around the fact that humans would so casually walk up to a lion and just trust that it will recognize them and want to play. I don't think I could ever do that, even if the said it was OK. :S Crazy

  • @MGTGR123 they did raise him frm a cub though

  • Even though they never saw him again I do believe that Christain did remember them for his whole life.

  • omg... this is a true story? man.... this is absolutely beautiful!

  • all lions are not killers there like that because we are

  • @paulyo122 Naivity will get you far.

  • @paulyo122 Good day

Lion only kills to (provide for themselves & the Lion family).

We Humans have our killing done for us by (grocery stores).

So far,..(unless we waste excessively by being careless, we & Lions stand on equal scales)

ANY (aside from "hunting strictly for food"

amounts to Killing for "sport" (fun)

  • i cried in this ;(

  • R.I.P <3333

If only all lions were like that..not killers.

  • @BeautyFreakist then they would all die.... but i know what you mean.

  • @BeautyFreakist Oh, I'm pretty sure it was a killer.

  • @boomerxxx Yeah, I get that, he wasn't a veggie lol, but the fact that they wouldn't kill humans.

  • Oh man.. That's really sad ): He dumped them

  • No I got Lions things to do lol

  • awwww

  • i just had to look this up. reading the book and it almost made me cry.

  • Damn one of the best videos/stories I stumbled upon on YouTube.

  • i love this story

  • This make me cry, every time I see it :')

  • that was sad

  • LOL at 2:05 :]

  • He had lion things to do lol

  • I Love the videos of Christian hes so beautiful and he Made Me cry Soo much and so many people will remember him and love him.

  • He just joined the circle of life, all ends well, no sad story here.

  • i'd wish i lived in the 70s, everything was cool back then.

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson yeah vietnam rocked

  • @Underpantsniper that wasnt really the bad part of Vietnam. It ended 3 years after this video, and most of the 70's was "cleanup" in Vietnam while the bloodshed was mainly mid 50's through the 60's..

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson Good day

..........& I wish I could go back again!!

    It was cool,no joke..

The "bs" level was SO much lower,..(there was bs of course but now it's "X-TREME")

  • @RetroCaptain What type of bullshit are we refering to sir? Government propaganda stuff? explain, i'm curious in your perspective!

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson General bs

EVERYTHING is TAXED,.I pay it all don't fret,..even the HST Just generally, life is much more complicated..jobs (good ones) hard or impossible now due to globalization/modern technology to come by, being bombarded by advertising I don't want to see/hear..having things that used to be free now forced to buy.I don't mean drug

Life still good,.but I can recall a time when it was "more free"

& I miss it.if you are too young to have been there you would not understand.

  • @RetroCaptain I am 23. I want to understand.

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson Exhibit A 0:22 - right bitching clothes

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson the lion wasnt even born till 1984.. so this had to be between 1984 and 2009

  • @scaredsinger1995 He was born in 1968-1969, check it on wiki.

  • This guys blog-story of his lion is so funny & so touching!! I never seen Born Free but maybe it's still around. I want to see it now ...but they do say now lions live longer in captivity. Its a hard life in Africa for a lions these days

  • @bluepeas510 wats the website?

  • I am so glad they were able to have a second reunion with Christian. I feel it gives us closure knowing that Christian was able to live his life as a lion in nature.

  • I can't stop crying.

  • @PaulMichaels2010

Christian is in our hearts and we love him dearly. This story also effected me. The second reunion helped give me closer because it is nice to know that he lived his life in the wild and even had his own family.

  • @PaulMichaels2010 i cry everytime i watch

  • They never give christian his freedom back, the give christian freedom and a life to live for

  • let just hope that hunters doesn't find him n hunt him down!! that will mess up the whole situation

  • @celebritylorv You do realize this happened for about 40 years ago?? Christian lives in our hearts now, but Liions live in the wild for 10-14 years as someone wrote here, so Christian is dead for lon time ago.

  • As in Sting song "If you love someone, set them free"!

Real love is not to possess somebody, but to let them live their own life.

Wild animals don't belong in circus or zoo, they belong in the wild.

  • Just like an adult human being he is probably too old to jump about and play.

  • MUITO LINDO, ISSO É UMA VERDADEIRA HISTORIA DE AMOR.

  • @reinaldolocutor eu sei direito

  • the 2 who disliked had their final reunion.lol

  • the 2 who disliked had their final reunion.lol

  • what a glorious animal

  • Those guys from ABBA can charm almost anything

  • @grabngonuts Your my hero.

  • Just amazing, these people are amazing for giving back such a regal beautiful animal a second chance at a real life.

  • 2 people with awesome 70s mullets and a sweet lion. It's priceless. x3

  • The 2 people who disliked this are jealous

  • I am sure that 1 dislike is because someone accidentally pressed it

  • @NardiNardi81 I made it two , not that i dislike this video !!!!

  • Greatest miracle if he was still alive?

  • "now i got lion things to do" lol that made me laugh

  • why was this the last reunion?

  • @DjWade3734 did u watch the video? he was gone the next morning

  • @iMhWtUr0204NOT i didnt hear that part haha

  • no dislikes so far! lets try to keep it that way pleeez.

  • Beautiful and moving story! The men in Christian's life are heroes.

  • He lived for 25 year he died in 2009

  • @LE388888888 No he didnt, they live for around 12-13 years in the wild.

  • Its like a teenager to an adult... lol

  • This Is Too Cutee<333

  • I think this is the cutest story ever told. Im sure Christian lived a good life. although he is long gone his story lives in our hearts.

  • This is such an enchanting story. I love Christain, Why can't the poachers open there dumb eyes and see what there hunting is basicall just a big usually friendly ball of fluff. I really wantt to kill the poachers - see how they like it. Long live lions , and the owners of Christain - who showed magnificent unselfishness.

  • @TheEpicAbigail Lions arent usually friendly balls of fluff, they are more than capable of hurting anyone, and thats purely because thats their instinct... Thats not to say that they are only able to be like that, as with any animal if raised from birth in a loving happy enviroment they would grow up to keep that freindship. Animals are amazing when you have a special bond with them, and poachers dont, they couldnt care less because they are providing for themselves and their families.

  • @TheEpicAbigail

You're quite naive. Wild lions are not "friendly balls of fluff", they are killers at the top of their food chain. Christian was born and raised with humans and so learned to be friendly

  • He'd grown to be so handsome and regal.

  • Sadly, Christian is dead now, its been over 15 years, and over 25years, so sadly he is dead. :'(

  • this was a very touching story.. bless them all .. I'm happy , but I'm also sad. I'm happy because they let him back to his freedom. and I find it touching , and a little sad that he said his final fairwell in a very.. touching way I think.. it was his way of saying - Goodbye. I'm off to live my life now. I'll always love you.. - my favorite animals are lions as well. I wish to have lived the same story.. Bless all

  • I feel sad they missed an opportunity at their final re-union. Christian wanted THEM to go with him. That's why he kept stopping and looking back. He had something to show them. Our Bengal cats do the same thing. They trot off and look back waiting for you to follow them. They should have followed him. Why didn't they realise this?

  • @glurbpot I agree .. just reading that made me sad.. but , maybe Christian had to go on his own ?

maybe it was time for him to say goodbye ? I'm so sad just thinking of that.. But it's true..

I would of gone with him. I would sleep in the wild, live there and eat there.. to be with my true

pride posession. but I would understand like them that it was time.. but I hope he is okay today..

he was beautiful..God bless lions ..

  • @nadiarobichaud Lions are amazing creatures. So different from Tigers. I get the impression that Tigers are totally untrustworthy from what I've seen of the Lion Man programs on TV. The other lion video that amazes me is the lion hugs a woman. The woman rescued the lion six years earlier and he's seen hugging her through the bars of his enclosure. He displays total affection for the woman. Cheetahs also seem capable of complete domestication if raised from birth in a domestic environment.

  • that lions a freaking player!

  • a wonderful and unique creature-even more unique among his own-he has a lions heart, and a humans compassion

hes more than likely long gone now--im sure some of the lions out there carry his dna--which is now preprogrammed by christains exposure to true love--itll be a sad day when these awesome and beautiful animals are no more....too bad the poachers will erradicate them.without knowledge of what they are doing to that species

  • i cried. hes so beautiful

  • Many like me feel that the lion should have gone to a sanctuary or wild animal park.

  • love it!!!!

  • so saad! This story must be one of the touching video I've ever seen! :') I never get tired of this beautiful story! We love you Christian! <3

  • all the animals in the world have feelings to thats why i really hate when one animal mistreats by its owner i really like to kill the one who are doing mistreats in animals

  • if only i could be that lion's half owner, or even quarter owner, i sure would give anything to get one such PURE n NATURAL hug...

  • He got freedom, females and offspring through the selfless act of 2 compassionate blokes and the father of lions, RIP George, you were a fucking legend and one of the last real men.

It's just sad that days like these are gone, global populations have doubled since then and wild animals are under ever increasing pressure, nowadays I'd say he would be better off living in captivity in a loving home than being dumped into the diseased, poached and culled(by farmers) wild lion populations.

  • @Chousakan

theres not much that can be done chousakan--heartless people will continue to hunt these amazing animal with no good intentions...im an animal lover and stories like solidify that not every human is heartless-and not every animal is just an animal...

  • T_T Beautiful!

This is why I hate when people mistreat animals. They obviously have emotions and feel pain. They can love you just as much as your own child.

  • i didnt knoe dat....im happy he had a great life and wonderful owners who understood to let him go wen it was appropriate..great story

  • i didnt knoe dat....im happy he had a great life and wonderful owners who understood to let him go wen it was appropriate..great story

  • i would love to c another glimpse of christian....just want to knoe if hes still k

  • @hotbrowny69: Me 2 but lions live for ten to fourteen years in the wild. so I just like to think that he had an amazing life surrounded by his cubs and lionesse ! : )

  • @hotbrowny69 He has died

  • @hotbrowny69 Sadly... Lions only live about 13 years... and that was nearly 40 years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • im sure hell be doing perfectly :)

  • @hotbrowny69 check out "christian the lion 3rd & final meeting" lol

  • @hotbrowny69 man this was back in the 70's as much as we would all love christian still around he probably would have died around 30 years ago

  • Sad & happy at the same time. They did the right thing & it was successful. Good that Christian is in a protected area where he can live a full, lion life.
