its a matter of taste, but as for technological features and overall innovative game, today battlefield is way superior.

Cod3 can be fun, but so is quake 3 or counterstrike, but the battlefield series are one or five steps ahead in terms of tech advances and gameplay. (remember the cod series started to get famous mainly because of its dramatic scripted campaign, the multiplayer is made only with casual gamers in mind)
