En rallye on dit tous que les copilotes participent a 30% du temps effectué...sans copilote, pas de bons temps...Ce n'est pas utile que dans certains temps, ca l'est tout le temps, même en dehors des spéciales. C'est lui qui s'assure d'arriver à l'heure au départ de la spéciale, assistance, etc...
@Stef67110 tu rigoles? une des rares fois ou loeb a tapé une sortie, c'était parce que son copilote lui a dit gauche gauche léger au lieu de droite droite léger. Loeb conduit incroyablement bien, mais a ce niveau, sans copilote, t'es mort

Can anybody explain their pace note system? I mean, if they use degrees, then how many different notes they have? And what are those "plusplus" and "moa moa" things you sometimes hear? Any specialities in their notes?
I can't explain it in detail, but I read in one interview with Daniel Elena (co-driver) and he said they use degrees: 120, 125, 130... He also mentioned that they didn't change the system for five years now and that their system is very precise and contains lot of details. Also he mentioned that Loeb has incredible memory, he remembers so much that he can't believe it. Elena actually said he sometimes feels like he's there only "to make sure" because Loeb knows what corner will follow.
for sure. he can't keep attention to all what elena says. there are too much informations spelled by the latter! nobody could concentrate on it and on driving at that speeds at the same time. even Loeb. such notes are only there to remind the driver in case he forgets any information or loose his concentration.
That isn't the case. You don't really actively listen to the pace notes as such. When you've built up that relationship the notes just flow into your head and you build the road in your head.
It all just flows into one, that's what being the best rally driver in the world is all about.
Brilliant video. I am not a Loeb fan but he is certainly a fantastic driver. Look at this year's Monte and you will see why
