I have 6 bassets, none of witch smell at all. My friend call me a neat freak. If my Bassets had a smell they would not live inside with us. I have found that Hounds and Bassets that are not Full Blood do have a (hound smell). All of my Bassets are Champion Bloodlines. I give a Bassets a bath every 3-4 weeks, just because of the dirt that get on them. But smell they do not.

basset hounds smell so bad! i have one of them; i don't know how you can deal with five of them!
