Great song - The Poppy Family was from Canada's West Coast (Vancouver, BC). They were famous across Canada during late sixties/early seventies - literally "from coast to coast" where they got a lot of air time on "beautiful music" or easy listening stations of the days. Their harmonics, musical arrangements and production were impeccable. Thank you for sharing this record I had long time forgotten and bringing me back the memories.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
@pontello3 ...you still listening to this dude............that gossip from their '70 great lakes visit has been posted on-line..................go to "jenny morris she has to be loved nzoz1989" and press "see all" to find my 3 hidden comments. regards.
I am so flattered Americans loved this too. As Canadians this was the era of CanCom and we thought anything Canadian on Canadian radio was 2nd rate. Clearly we we wrong and those who supported CanCom were right. Lots of wonderful music from the era.
Definitely one of my favorite songs of the 70s....we lived where we could get Canadian radio staions and this was a staple in the 10th grade! Been searching for this for many years. Thank you for making my night!
My "Bubbling Under" book from Joel Whitburn tells me this peaked at #105. It is like so many follow-up songs of that era, it takes the basic sound of the bigger hit "That's Where I Went Wrong" and try to change it just enough to be another hit. I loved "That's Where I Went Wrong", this one is definitely a cut below that but enjoyable anyway! I do not remember this one - did a little more checking, this one was released 18 months after "That's Where I Went Wrong' - in February of 1972. Thanx!
