The audience wasn't miked. Turn up the volume and you can hear them laughing quite a bit. Also, there are more than just boring business people at the CES show. The majority of people that go are normal people, technophiles, etc. The exact kind of people that are into things like FOTC.

I can faintly hear the crowd. I figured that they simply hadn't bothered recording them. Generally when it's a professional stage performance they'll have microphones pointed to the crowd to get the atmosphere right. Their sound quality didn't sound too great in this recording, so I'm willing to bet they just didn't bother recording it all properly.
