@1mcdiarmid You took that statement from Jimmy Carl Black in some Beefheart Documentary on TV and are trying to represent it as your own in order to appear profound to people you've never met on the internet.
@KoivuTheHab, he was around before the Residents, and The Mothers were running about the same time and sounded nothing like this. Stop reading Rolling Stone or all music and actually listen. I know alot of the no wave bands had to use him as blue print.
There used to be a video of Captain Beefheart doing this song live. It really adds so much to see him actually perform his songs, he makes such expressive facial expressions, and his band are a trip to watch too!
I go out and party with fruit-fighting flamingos whenever I hear this absolute masterpiece. Samual Beckett wrote my life and Captain Beefheart did the score. RIP, Captain.
Frank was good but Don was the master

@1mcdiarmid "Come and whisper in my ear give us dirty laundry"."
I also feel that Don Henley is the master but I harley think this is the place for such discussion. Who's Frank?

So many people ripped him off...

@dahleric74 So did he. That's music. Complete originality is impossible. Just enjoy it.

@dahleric74 Or he ripped off The Residents or Frank Zappa and everyone rips them off and not Captain Beefheart...

I'll bite - How exactly did Don "rip off" Frank Zappa?
Revanlation 1 month ago
@Revanlation How exactly did anyone rip off Don and not any of the artists I mentioned? You are the one who made the first false comment...
