While I love Savini's work, he is way too Narcissistic. His head is so big, he wouldn't need a squib to do an exploding head shot. I wish he would get off himself, instead of getting off on himself!
This was an alright remake but not needed cause the original is a true masterpiece, if it wasn't broke don't fix it. I think Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake was far better then this one cause it did something different and fresh to it's source rather then just being a pale clone of the original just like this one.
I enjoyed the Savini remake, especially how he changed the twist at the end. The original will always be my favorite, but, this version is still an A+ effort.
Savini did a GREAT job with the remake of Night Of The Living Dead - in SOME ways it's actually creepier than the original. Still, the original is a classic - and of course, it's the first one that started it all - so it gets my respectful thumbs up...
he's the only person I think of "hands on" special makeup effects - the innovator of them, per se. Dick Smith is the father of makeup, but definitely Tom Savini is the son !!
Not only Savini is an excellent fx artist he is an accomplished film director, also...too bad most producers in Hollywood pigeonholed him as the GO-TO gore guy and do not offer him that many directing gigs (check his version of NIGH OF THE LIVING DEAD to see what I'm saying)

This fucking movie traumatized me. It's so weird to see Tom giving directions to the Cemetary Zombie, a creature that has stalked me in my dreams.
I love this movie so, so bad. And look Patty Tallman!

Tom Savini's remake is the ONLY remake to this day I actually enjoyed (and even prefered) dare I say then the original.
Because I'm against any remake these days.
