  • Is there a 'love' button? Because the like button doesn't sum up the intense emotions that you feel when you listen to these guys. 'Like' is not deep enough a word.

  • I love you Ian!

  • thankyou Manchester...well...and the surrounding areas... showing the rest of the planet how it's done since the industrial revolution thankyouu very much

  • Joy Division por vida! Hello to all from california!

  • Amazing Song. Early JD will do that to ya.

  • alex perelson in since day one!

  • Since day One! Alex Perelson!

  • @fsfeeblerevert hell fucking yeah!

  • @fsfeeblerevert brought me here

  • Ian Curtis wrote these lyrics at 21. He committed suicide at 23. That makes entirely too much sense.

  • wow awsome song !

  • Amazing they went from this to "Love Will Tear us Apart" in under 24 months. Credit that great band's dynamic and that mad genius Martin Hannett. They created some of the most sonically incredible recordings with him but at their heart they had just been an arty punk band at the start of their career. Even in New Order, the musicianship wasn't off the charts at all. But the chemistry and ear for great rhythms and riffs was. This was when Ian sang in a normal register.

  • This is Warsaw, pre Joy division. 'Love it !

  • the vocals don't really sound like ian's

  • @Bigjondotorg

Then you haven't listened to much of Joy Divison's music.

  • @Mikeol2006 i'm used to listening to the Closer album, haven't got into much Warsaw sounds great tho

  • Never have heard this song. I guess there is still new JD songs to be heard.

  • Thanks for putting this rare tune up straight from the album!!

Wasn't the band called Warsaw before they were Joy Division?

  • @kedgwell. Thanks. They were called Stiff Kittens, then Warsaw, then settled for Joy Division in '77/78, as there was a London band called ' Warsaw Pakt'.

  • @lydonandcurtis Yeah its funny how they only played one show under Stiff Kittens!!!! :)

  • @lydonandcurtis THEY FOUND THE NAME IN SOME BOOK ITS WAS SOME GERMAN DIVISION OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT LOL

  • @krispyrenee

Actually, the name refers to the women who were forced into prostitution in the German death camps during WW2. Joy Division is a translation of Freudenabteilung.

  • Catchy!!!!!

  • Such a cool song and very catchy, I must have listened to this loads now but it's still great

  • nice..!!!

  • The drums make me so happy.

  • ♥♥♥ Damn it.

  • the warsaw record is like an smarter version of the first skrewdriver record (that is a compliment)

  • lol i thought like 'sounds a bit like the early skrewdriver' ^^

  • This and Isolation give me curls. Love it all but these two especially.

  • if you like punk wrote Mystery avenue in the search bar

  • PUNK

  • great song, great band, thank you for uploading - @Canuck i believe Sumner sings the chorus in this album's version of "they walked in line" -

  • You are right, it sounds like Barney sung the chorus of one version of "They Walked in Line".

  • wow!

  • man this makes me happy

  • Have you ever heard of Rudolph Hess..

  • i've never really listened to the warsaw music, its a lot different to their other stuff

this is more clean and has a cool different sound

  • sounds happier too...

  • Another great Joy Division/Warsaw song.

  • fuckking fantastic song!!!

  • Thanks. More Warsaw (JD) tracks to put on at later date. Cheers!!!

  • is Ian or Bernard or both who sings at this track?

  • This was just Ian on vocals!

  • I've notice that many people get confused whenever they hear Ian Curtis sing with his real voice because most only know recognize his baritone voice.

It is Ian who sings this track from start to finish. As far as I know, Bernard Sumner never sang in Joy Division. Peter Hook sometime did backing vocals live.

  • peter sung co lead on interzone

  • Yes it's Hooky sings with Ian on Interzone. It's actually Hooky leads n Ian is the 2nd. vocal in the Background.

  • no it ian singing and its ians voice in the background with his baritone voice, peter also does the chorus with ian in transmission

  • yeah peter is backing singer all things esp live, and it is hooky in fore and ian in back i swear

  • @karziflora When live!! but on the album UNKNOWN PLEASURES Ian's vocal is double taked!

  • Excellent!!!!!! Thanks for posting. Great track and not a lot of early JD posted. OH Ste Morris is awesome on this track :)

  • Thank you, good stuff.

  • Thanks! Makes it all the more worthwhile, with comments like that.
