You ppl commenting are all retarded. He's trying to set the trap properly to leave it overnight. He's not fucking tryin to catch minnows by leaving the trap in for 5 secs
if you use sweetcorn and ham and leave the trap in over night you will rarely get less than 200 sized minnows in a trap. do you live in america i live in scotland and we get minnows from our local river
I used to use barrel traps too, until I saw the You Tube video on the Collapse-A-Trap. That dang thing catches tons a live bait fish and even fits in your tackle box.
@junebug55571 alright kids calm down they come back after a little while when the scent of the bait gets into the water... when a barge boat goes by in the river it makes the fish bite better not go away somtimes noise attracts fish
yep, i catch a few everytime in the irrigation ditches i even catch 2 toede amphiuma sometimes...the ditch in my yard doesnt hold water all the time but i catch tons of craw dads in it when theres water in there. the best way i know to catch big craw dads is to go to a small lake and move the boats that are pushed aground in the shallows...the big ones love to sit under them...
hahah whats wrong with half you people hahahah no offence but just toss some bread in a trap and throw it in any pond like 2-5 feet of water and your good to go bread dont kill the minnows and if your in a lake youll just get dirty river shiners that die in an hour in your minnow bucket or youll get razor backs wich also suck for fishing you want dace or chub minnows,, and these guys in the boat have no clue to life. hahah good luck
haha omg it really works haha i thought it was a fake i made a 2 liter soda bottle trap and i put a couple turtle pellets and i caught some small bulegills omg man i left it over night an came back next morning and there they were i post up a video of it tomarrow
lmao. you cant catch minnows if the trap aint in the water...and just so every1 knows bread actually kills minnows... it clogs up the intestins. and they die. so if you have another bait to use. do so because not long after they eat the bread there not gunna have the action that you need.
put your bread in a potato or onion sack and then put a wire around the top to keep it compressed. run another wire through your bait and suspend it in the middle of the trap, that way the fish will have to go into it rather than peck at the food from the side...
Well this has been interesting. I'm leaving for our 20th fishing trip May 24th, 2008 for a week...same lake, and will try some of the suggestions posted here and report back...and will have a new video or two.
You should try useing worms for bait. ( I know it sounds like i know nothing ) but seriously cut the worms up the blood will usually attract them. if you get any with the worms use one or two of the minnows as bait just ( like before ) CUT THEM UP!! LOL.
go to a walmart in the fishing section or acamey has them only buy one that looks like the one thay have dont buy a minnow holder on accdent(minow trap is made out of wired mesh
I put mine out the night before im going fishing. Put spearment bubble gum. It doesnt disove. Its mess free. AND the fish dont actualy eat it they just swarm it.
i just throw mine out infront of weeds... you got alot of traps set.... how many do you usually catch? what are you baiting with? we have our best luck w/ styrofoam broke into lil pieces
We usually set about 5 traps throughout the lake. On an average day we'll get 1 or 2 traps with nothing, 1 or 2 traps with 2 dozen little shiners, and 1 or 2 with 2 dozen large shiners. We use bread pieces to bate them and always set them near beaver dams. There aren't any weeds at the time of year we go (May) tell me more about how styrofoam pieces are used.
you just take thin styrofoam pieces (like a styrofoam cup) break them into tiny pieces (like you would bread) works GREAT, but you get alot of lil bluegill in there too sometimes
give cheerios a try for bait once, you will like it. regular or honeynut, either or
