  • thr jessye norman perfurmance is far and away the outstanding rendition of this song Superb control, perfect diction, mature handling of the modest lyrics, emphasis always

on the essential sentiment, and the magic of a superb voice providing the simple beauty of the composers work.

  • Loved this film so much. Thanks for putting this together.

  • Different style, nice but I prefer Enya's.

  • Hi, just watched the video Marble Halls - Peter Ibbetson with Gary Cooper. Just put the move in my Netflix queue. Who is singing "Marble Halls" with this video. I like this version much better than the Enya version you usually hear. Can't wait to see the move.

  • This is a beautiful version of Balfes song.

  • I saw this film on N.Y. tv The Late-Show in the early 1960s and can never forget it. It has a great beautiful charm yet emotionally it's totally haunting. Excellent film production. The feelings invoked are not felt in modern LA cinema,

  • Just beutiful!

  • Just beautiful!

  • I believe one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen.

Gary Cooper is my hero, and imagine him in this film is a great emotion

    I love Gary Cooper , Forever!!!! :)

  • It is the strangest thing--I pulled this up this morning sung by Sissel. My mother used to love this song, but I haven't heard it for years. I stopped by a consignment shop an hour or so later, and Enya's recording was playing. I could not believe I've found it after all these years.

  • I'm glad you found it again. It's available on region 1 dvd in one of Gary's boxsets.

  • You have just made my year! Just ordered it on amazon, it must be 10 years since I've seen it. Thanks soooooo much for solving this decade long mystery for me!

  • I'm so glad you were able to find it and solve your mystery. It is a beautiful film and I know you'll enjoy it as much now as did then.

so for the best that has come from america

    thank you on 4 july

  • I am completely undone, thank you. That phrase seems inadequate, I feel as though I've melted , I thank you again for such a beautiful video.

  • I saw this movie about 30 years ago. It left such an impression on my...one that has lasted over half my life. Hopeless Romantic I guess.

  • It's available on dvd in one of his box sets if you'd like to see it again. Glad you liked the movie and the video.

  • @coopsgirl07 It's so beautiful! This mustache and everything else ...

It is impossible not be touched, to imagine that a man be so perfect in everything.

Gary Cooper! A man who knew how to be human! I love ...

I weep when I see ... Love inspires me.

  • Peter to me is the best love story on film

I posted a comment sometime ago but failed to mention a pity the most striking scene in Peter was not included in Marble Halls, When Mary sees him thru' the railings and the camera dwells on the scene for a few seconds. You can keep all your so called modern day love stories and films, this is by far the most moving, with music, storyline and acting. Thankyou Angie again for yours. Thank you

  • real comfort ...so soothing

  • it goes really well with the words.. really makes me want to watch the movie... :D

  • Excellent.

  • Peter Ibbetson is a superb film based on the George Du Murier novel. This clip goes so well with Marble Halls - it really evokes the emotion of the whole story. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so much beautifully put together. On of my favourite films. A timeless classic thank you for including those scenes.

  • there are no words for gary cooper. i consider him to be the classic movie star icon. i fell totally in love with this film. when i realize the story was based on a novel, i got so excited. i just orderer the book, i cant wait to read such aged literature.
  • The novel was incredible. I had no idea that it had ever been filmed. Thank you for showing me.

  • Who is singing the song? It's a lovely voice.

  • It's an artist called Lily.

  • Oh gosh Angie, that was so dreamy! I'm all teary-eyed!
