@warwick487 The Rev was better than this, and he was a Mainstreem Drummer, which you would think wouldn't prove himself but he really made Percussion his bitch, but as for this guy,Hes fast but has ok rhythm,Jimmy Sullivan was freakishly fast, and put it in a rhythm as if he was a master.
@blastbeattom66 Excuse me,you'll never find a Drummer anywhere close to being as skilled as Jimmy Sullivan you should shoot yourself for even saying that,do your music school work before saying that, that'll get your wig split my fellow Metal head,Joey Jordison from Slipknot said of being inferior to The Rev.
And dumbass motherfucker I never said The Rev was faster than Engman, but he has way better beats and rhythm that can never be proved wrong, and as for speed,Speed for Sullivan was no problem but he knew he didn't have to Drum as fast as Engman he knew from the first time he shat down in front of those Drums for the record comp. he had enough talent to play at a certain tempo and STILL be better than QUICK ASS Joey Jordison,or put The guy from Dream Theatre to shame, I'm sorry but your schooled.
Well you think THAT'S a bad comparison, the guy Warwick487 compared Travis Barker to this guy so I threw shit back at him,and yeah but they both show simple to comprehend similarities!,they both can Drum fast as hell but can put them an a Rhythm out of this world but like I said,The Rev could do it 10 times better.
Also:Asshole Avenged Sevenfold actually has Instrumental underground work from sometime in 2002 that was virtually identical to this, and just because 90% of Mainstream Metal sound
like average Metal drumming, doesn't mean you judge their full talent and skill off their Radio work, you have to think about underground Jam Sessions which Jimmy Sullivan had a lot of,that's where they show their skill and any real Metal fan understands that.
Fucking love Brodequin and John Engman. Chad Walls as well. For you who doesn't know what song it is: It's "Slaves to the Pyre" from Methods of Execution.
all other arguements aside, theres not one moment of gravity blasting on anything Ive ever recorded...I dont know how to do it! either way, thanks for checking out my grinds and for the comments, positive and negative.
Why is it that drummers that learn the gravity blast can only do it for ten seconds at a time? The only drummer that can do it for over a minute is Martin Maurais of Dechrist/Kataklysm, Flo can do it faster than anyone I've heard, just listen to the song Carrionshine.
The gravity blast is one of the hardest techniques to perfect in drumming, it was invented by Buddy Rich in the 1950's! The only thing harder is the heal toe technique mastered by Tim Waterson! Get an education XtrubioR you need to get your facts straight dumbass! B.T.W. I know Flo Mounier of Cryptopsy personally just to proove you wrong asswipe!
Ehm stupid lol, almoest everyone can do gravity blast it isnt hard at all, im a drummer myself so i know.
But this hyper blast jon engmand does you first need to have VERY strong hands as you see he doesnt trigger at all only mick , and for the last you need to be really extremely fast in your hands. I´ve never seen a drummer like jon engman that speed is sick.
Ehm, just because you know flo doesnt mean ur right haha, flo doesnt know everything maybe gravity blast is the hardest for him i dont know but it doesnt prove anything.
First off, Flo Mounier was doing the hyperblast since the early nineties, long before Brodequin even existed! Since then hundreds of drummers have learned to hyperblast! Alienation Mental does it faster than any drummer I've ever heard! Second Origin's debut was the first metal album to use the gravity blast back in 2000, since then only a handful of drummers have perfected it! If you claim to be able to do it why don't you send in a video smartass! Talk is cheap!
I thought gravity blasting was a very easy tecnique to learn. hyperblasting takes much more time to get down, and a lot more difficult. Props to engman man!! he fucking rocks!!! good influence.
First of all, you can either call it Hyperblasts or Suffocationblasts because Mike Smith of Suffocation invented that technique and he did it long before Cryptopsy ever existed as a well known band.
He's even faster than the old drummer! I wonder if he's as fast as Devourment's drummer, he does gravity blasts that are even faster than the hyperblast!

who thought that?? considering they always tour with a drummer, and that dissimulate was done with a live drummer

dont know. Luke said it in an interview. He also said the people who saw them live saw their drummer was able to do it.
