@Bryanalabas it didn't melt the steel, all you have to do is get the steel hot enough that it loses its rigidity. in the winter I occasionally bend up a mudflap bracket on my trailers while backing, the mudflap gets caught between packed snow & the tire & it pulls the bracket out of shape. I repair the bracket by heating it up to around 400 degrees F (just shy of cherry red) then pushing it back in place with my feet & a hammer. this is nowhere near melting temp.

gees so now every friggin' plane crash in nyc suddenly has to be a 9/11 crash.
I live in manhattan and this crash took place on the east side of mid town manhattan.
I remember it because it stopped me from getting across town to work! don't get me wrong it was sad and all (yudda yudda) my point is this was not lower manhattan where the trade center used to be and was way after 2001! I was there I saw the fire trucks go by for both events.. also this plane here crashed into an apartment complex
