I'm amused at how you were having fun at people claiming Metroid Prime isn't an FPS but an action adventure. Then Tobin goes and says "I must've thought of it as an FPS instead of an adventure game."

Metroid Prime isn't an FPS! It's a first person platform/adventure game with shooter elements. Yeah, genres suck and are complicated. But an FPS is a game you play for the action. You don't play Metroid for the action, you play it for the exploration and puzzles.
