Who thought it was a good idea to change the dungeon siege universe to some strange fantasy world with guns and some bizarre mix of magic and science. Plus, the inventory sucks. THere's no character customization. Graphics is not that bad, but since you can't really control the camera that much it just doesn't matter anyway. And there are only a couple of skills. So in conclusion, all the best things that we knew from DS1 & DS2 are gone. Epic fail

I'd compare this more to the Bioware games than Diablo. Games such as Baldur's Gate. The orginal Dungeon Siege had some pretty cool features. But I think Neverwinter Nights pretty much smoked it.

Diablo's overrated. However, i never imagined that Square Enix would deal with Dungeon Siege franchise. I have high hopes for the multilayer but games these days suck hard, regardless of who's making them...however, Suqare Enix never failed to impress me, while other RPG creators did... *cough...bioware...cough*.

However, what I've seen is WAY different than DS2. but premade characters are what's always been a good thing in DS2. A good, enjoyable lineral storyline RPG that's actually FUN! :]

A.it's made by square enix. yes, the square enix whos the king of difficult, overly complicated, overly obsessed with red eyed enemies, WAY dragged out storyline RPGs.

B. they're kind of leaving the DS feel behind and making it into a action RPG, thats not what die hard fans want.

I want to click on a enemy and have my party hack away it. Not make it self centered on one main PC with one or two NPCs

I didn't like 1, but i did the second. It was the atmosphere and the companions (Deru and Finala and that bloodthirsty Half-giant whatshisname), those hirable pets, increasing lvl of diff for more interesting playagains and oh man i never found the last book for that quest. The story was also quite acceptable. Now, I made the mistake of playing the 2nd one first, and 1st was boring because of that. I might play through DS1 one of these days.

@L0RDSHE0GORATH i get what you say, i really like diablo 2 and it is funny as hell but when we talk about ROL and story line BG2 and Torment are in another whole level since they got the whole AD&D mass of lore behind them and aside from that they are wonderfully narrated whit hundred of text lines instead the limited amount of dialog in diablo 2. Diablo 2 is fun, yes it is. Is it real depth rol? No by any means, is just a hack and slash game. No real roleplaying behind it.

Dungeon siege 1 was just purely amazing nothing could beat it. Legends of arana came out It was alright, still not as good

Dungeon siege 2 came out.. It was good, but it just didnt amaze me as much as 1 did, same with broken world.

Space siege came out.. It was a complete failure. Only played in for a day and traded it back in for my cash back

@kolimpad you need to replay dungeon siege... if you pay close attention, the gameplay is exactly the same...the only major changes are a serious graphics upgrade...both dungeon siege 1 and 2 had barely any difference in visuals except for some new particles and designs, things are obviously higher resolution now

In the first game if you let people join you, take their stuff and then disband them you can sell their goods, get whatever gold they were carrying and move on. If you play the game through with just the main character and try to stick to one school of combat, you become basically unstoppable. A mule helps to carry the valuables

I havnt played dungeon seige 2 but the first one was great. It was a great rpg at the time but i think the gameplay has changed here. The swamp i always get lost on but i eventually figure it out. Im going to miss my packmule. Had lots of elixers and potions with him. maybe theyll keep packmules? or not. then theyres the chicken launcher i had in multiplayer. Kept firing chickens all over the place.

Shit... I can't believe this is happening... This is not the Dungeon Siege I used to play. This is a copy of Diablo III... Dungeon Siege 1 had mystery, a great immersion and a lot of effect created by using a minimum of efforts. Dungeon Siege 2 became a commercial hack'n'slash, but which still retained some of the magic of the first one. This is crap. Just candy-eye. Nothing more.

@orlandothx I'm sorry but you must mean Torchlight! Torchlight is a game that have the same playing concept but is a completly different game. Torchlight has cartoonish graphics but Diablo 3 has the graphics it should have, realistic graphics.

I would hate it too if they ruined Diablo but you have just mistaken the game from another indie game. Be certain next time so you won't cry too much (^ ^)

@orlandothx Ok, I have watched a few pictures and I see that it is very alike the other blizzard games. Mafia II has it's own graphics and blizzard has..... WoW.... yeah... and WoW isn't the best kind of graphics but they are making progress as you can see in Starcraft II but I can't say that Diablo 3 has cartoony style, it is more WoW style and WoW is not cartoony...but lame... but Diablo 3 has much better graphics and in my opinion, they rule!

@mushdragon Yeah to the untrained eye WOW appears very cartoony, even though I agree it's not, it's simply what you do when you want cheap textures by the barrel load, they're crap. It's a style used when a company is feeling uninspired and lazy. Mostly artistically lazy, with D3 they've clearly changed it a bit, but that crappy-often named 'cartoony-look' is still there to some degree. So lesson is crappy art teams pushed for volume makes games to look similarly, lazily done and cheap looking.

Looks like there is no party, which always was what made Dungeon Siege unique and interesting. Fast paced action gameplay with a party and the rewarding fun to level that party up and equip everyone as good as possible.

Neither gameplay nor visuals seem to have anything to do with the brand Dungeon Siege. Why make a sequel if it is not a sequel? Oh right...money from unsuspecting fans. And not to forget, lets copy GoW as much as possible, since thats popular at the moment.

Yeah but the game has to evolve, hopefully forward. It's a good thing that Microsoft games and GPG lost it, cuz they would have butchered 3. Hopefully 3 will have the environment and music of DS1 and the gameplay of DS2. If so, combined with 9 per party, then DS3 will be like Diablo 3 on crack.

@DoctuhD Oh, I seriously doubt it will stand a chance next to Diablo 3. Anyways, I'll be happy not to have the framerate problem of DS2. Even nowadays, with a GTX280, the framerate in DS2 is something liek 20-30fps. And you're damned right about the environments of DS1. They were amazing. However, I Don't like having a party in action RPG's. I prefer one character only.
