So I recently ordered this on ebay for my GBC, Mind you I have never played this. But anyway I showed this to my friend but they think im an idiot for buying this because the refrences to mario and such, and they think it looks bad. Is this really a bad game or do you think my friends are stupid

i played this game on my cell phone with an emulator recently.i am from Turkey and Nintendo consoles and games didnt exist here when i was a kid.i did not even know anything about zelda games.i played all of them as an adult and surprisingly this is my favourite of all.maybe its not the best tecnically but this game has something that hard to explain.the very essence of all good things about gaming maybe.Just give it a try you will understand what i am talking about.

Theres one Zelda game with a similar beginning and I cant find it. It was my first and last 'till I got Skyward Sword. It had to do with switching between Day and Night or so with portals. Help?

@182ralphy there was one called a link to the past on the snes, but links awakening is a gameboy exclusive.

I've never cared too much for the Zelda games before, but after seeing AVGN's Zelda CD-i reviews, the bits where he compared Zelda CD-i to NES/SNES Zelda games made me want to get into the franchise. I was gonna start with A Link to the Past on SNES, the one I mostly have my eye on, but because a friend of mine is giving me his Link's Awakening, it'll be the one I start on instead.

@zeppelin1996 I've played and beaten Link's Awakening, A Link To The Past, The Wind Waker, Hyrule Fantasy (by which I mean the first Zelda game, even though I don't live in Japan) and Ocarina of Time.

I have a Phantom Hourglass save in progress, though I haven't played it in a while but will resume it soon, I have Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland on order and I'll make a start on Master Quest soon! (plus I'll get Skyward Sword when it comes out)

@an1man1ac54l1f3 Wow, you've done a lot! The one I would reccomend is Majora's Mask. It's far different from the other games in the series but it's definitley worth checking out. I'm currently playing Ocarina of Time for the forth time, Twilight Princess for the second, and Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask for the first. I plan to play others that I've already beaten again but four at a time is enough for now. Such a great series. Which one do you like best?
