I would be willing to argue that the Nintendo 64 had the biggest impact on gaming due to the fact that it was the FIRST console to do 3D graphics, made a FPS comparable (or better) then today's games, or even to introduce so many people to the idea of gaming. I say this because, sure Mario brought in a TON of gamers but think about the younger kids who wanted to play these games. I know for me, the N64 was the first system i begged for...as we already had the SNES.
