Its a cinematic tool that is being abused to the extent where now we don't even get good CGI eg Dragon Ball Evolution/X-Men Origins. At least in the 90s it was kinda impressive like in T2

Oh god this was a horrible movie. Look past the effects indeed....how about the acting and the whole thing about the diamond and Doctor Doom not being the technological genius he is in the comics, and the white spray paint in Reed's hair, and the corny lines, and the fact that Torch couldn't burn through a wall or whatever he was trying to burn through.

I just thought of something kinda funny. Back when I was like 13 or 14 I read an interview withe the guy who played Reed in this. He stated something like "if audiences memebers can be mature, and look past current FX technology(I am sure he meant budget, but the studio asked him not to mention that to damage the gross)then the film has a chance to make more then Jurassic Park, and other blockbusters." That made me laugh even as a kid, since you could tell in the trailer this was just BAD.
