How to crack a software

Hello, I am trying to crack a particular program, When I open it in W32Dasm, It does what it's supposed to, but once it gets to "Processing 302407 Call References" It Stops working & tells me to close the Program... Is there a Log file I can get the info from, or is there a way to make this thing stop freezing? I have done a few things with no luck. Compatibility Mode with Admin Priority.. What else can I do? This is all crap, the cracker does not work since the warnings are virtual, and do not carry the real name. It only works with old programs. If you want to show your guts try difficult programs like "ZIP RAR ACE Password Recovery", or "archpr", it is very difficult to crack them.
