well the multi touch technology being used is the new functionality to allow more intuitive use of the iPhone.
I don't think apple have ever claimed it to have any more than any other phone, but just to do it better...and tbh I agree. Having owned several PDAs with windows mobile it looks like a breath of fresh air in ease of use and GUI functionality.

that may be true to a certain degree but you have to admit at the end of the day after they "dress up their phone" they go back and say well i'm bored with this time time to get off this emulator and go stream live tv to my pocket pc again.

Everyone why want to copy Iphone when my PPC6700 can do more than that Iphone. Tell me can the Iphone watch TV from my home? Nooooooo! but my ppc6700 can do that. Who wants a Iphone with so much bugs and easy to Hack... Stick to Windows mobile 5 and 6. It makes me do the things I want on my smartphone.

Nah.. I do think that the combo of XP/VISTA plus having ubuntu as alternative to do things faster with a free forum of innovation is the way, and probably will be in the future.

well the multi touch technology being used is the new functionality to allow more intuitive use of the iPhone.
I don't think apple have ever claimed it to have any more than any other phone, but just to do it better...and tbh I agree. Having owned several PDAs with windows mobile it looks like a breath of fresh air in ease of use and GUI functionality.

And take a look at some Apple commericials... yes they ARE claiming "new" things that have been done before.
The multitouch is simply for the "pinch"... and actually would be a disbenefit to the touchpad for typing.
