This part is real sad I admit. After seeing the 7th story it took my focus off of Garfield and made me wonder about this cat. I know its just a cartoon, but how can they show something horrible like this based on reality and not make a happy ending for this poor cat like the other stories? Jim Davis being a real cat lover that he is, I don't know why he would write a story about something like this.

@Nitelathe This is actually the lesser of the two "dark" Garfield stories. In the original book, "Primal Self" was even darker than this (it wasn't adapted because it was so dark).

There's a lot, really. Dogs being mean to cats is pretty cliche though so it's more common.

Was I the only one slightly creeped out by this? Not only was Garfield an innocent kitty subjected to experiments, he goes through a pretty scary and painful transformation into a dog. And unlike "Diana's Piano", it's never said how or when he died.

This life was the one that nearly gave me a heart attack. The darkness of this life still makes my blood run cold, and my heart beat quicken. This is like living a nightmare, with no end. I still forget this is Gardfeild, even still.

But, if something affects the way you feel, you can walk away having learned something. This made me understand Garfeilds fear of the vet.
