Hi! I could use this as a texture to some painting I am going to paint and then paint on it some other objects but the problem is I don't use acrylics because I am a slow painter and I can't manage when the colors dries too fast. So I wanted to ask does this work vice-versa? ( For example, painting with oil and sprayin' it with water?)
@55sarajevo.....Let's see what YOU'VE got to show us in regards to TALENT, INSPIRATION, SUPPORT and GENEROSITY!!! What is YOUR great purpose in life? What have YOU got? Besides a computer and your mama’s basement? Learn to spell, Ass Hat!!!!!
@55sarajevo i think it is really unfortunate that in today's world people STILL need to be reminded of one of the very first things we ALL learn: "if you don't have anything nice to say, Don't say anything at All." i can appreciate we all have our own opinions and in fact that is what makes the world go round, but the need to be belligerent and malicious well i just don't get it!
thanks!
sincerely,
Somebody who actually learned something in kindergarten!
@55sarajevo I believe it is spelt teaching, not techniq, or were you trying to say technique? It's very hard to understand stupid people on you tube. I'd like to see you paint better than him!
nice video! i tried so many times to do it but paint not separating!!!!even used different white spirits..........and explanation video doesnt work(((HELP
@vzhikable A simple tip- take a cloth with some olive oil or any other type of cooking oil. You can also use WD40. Put a very small amount of oil onto your cloth/rag and then wipe the entire surface of your painting. Then mix up your paint...add a little water to it so it becomes watery and then when you paint it over the surface it will split..because oil and water don´t mix! Hope that helps...your welcome to join my art social network loving mixed media. I share all of my techniques for free
I love this video but unfortunately, I am having the same problem as the person above that wrote a comment regarding the paint not separating. Any advice will be greatly appreciategd.
Yes a few people have also had the same problem. I have just attached a video in the response section with a update video explaining the technique in more detail! Hope that helps!
I think this works well with 91% alcohol...where the spreading is more far apart, leaving gaping empty spaces rather than little streams like this one with turpentine....lovely technique...thanks a ton
I've tried this technique, but when I sprayed the turpentine over the acrylic paint it doesn't separate....I guess it's beacause both are water base so it has no effect. I'll appriciate if you could explain some more. Thanks a lot :)
Yes a few other people have had trouble with this technique so i have posted a response video under the technique showing you a clearer step by step of the water techique!
Is what you refer to as white spirits same as mineral spirits? Cause mineral spirits has no effect on acrylic. I'll appreciate if you explain some more.
Excellent demonstration! Love the effect! Your videos are always inspiring. Thank you for sharing and I hope you will continue to give us the great videos you have been.
