I think she means that you can't make somebody else happy by making somebody else sad in more of a moral context, like a rule, which I agree with.

An action like that would only shift the unhappiness from one person to another.

Me too! It's was actually one of the halloween favorites from my mother, who actually remember this (so is the christmas special of Raggedy Ann and Andy) and recorded this special on the Disney Channel when I was way young. Many years after, I can't find that darn vhs. ;_; Last week, after I saw this special, I cannot believe how long I've seen since this. I'd actually have tears in me eyes. I'm so glad someone had the heart to upload this special just in time for the season! :)
