I love Johnson, and Ron Paul. But unfortunately because the GOP is still under the control of war-hawk neo-conservatives they'll do the same thing they did to Paul in 08 to Johnson if he runs in '12.
any argument you make against legalizing drugs who could also make the same argument for making it illeagal to eat unhealthy foods or not exercise. War on drugs is a failure and an insult to a free society.
As to the question posed on deregulation of the banks, if the government didn't get in the way of ratings companies (due in part to work on the behalf of lobbyists who work for these same firms) then the investors could more easily determine which firms were "gambling" with their funds instead of investing.
Why is there the mentality that anytime you do something or make something or just move something, that taxing it is just part of life, like breathing. How about keeping the centralized Gov't out of our lives. Put all taxes at the State Gov't level. At least then the corrupt politicans would be within our grasps.
I'd like to address what Ratigan said at about 4:41.
Why would anyone give money to some institution if they weren't sure it would be safe there? I wouldn't hand my life savings over to a gambler in vegas for safekeeping. The only reason people give their money to the casinos on wall street is because of the FDIC. Without the FDIC, people would only give their money to safe, reputable, reliable institutions who do not gamble. You don't need regulation, just stop protecting the gamblers
@capitalist4life I bought annuity with state farm and I later found out they are not FDIC insured and when I asked for my money back they they were going to charge me $600 which was what I had in there. And I don't trust the FDIC or Banks anymore
@MrNationalistpride Annuities are almost never FDIC insured. A lot of people don't know this, but the FDIC is technically private. Your money in the annuity is probably insured through a different insurance agency, and I can tell you that the insurance amount is likely much higher than the FDIC 250 K. I understand your distrust, but don't worry too much. Your money is safe.
This is my guy right here. He doesnt take anyones side. He talks about providing the necessary framework to lay a level playing field for everyone to thrive.
I'm really starting to like this guy! Gary Johnson remember this name because he will be running for President in 2012 and he simply makes sense. I'm a HUGE Ron Paul supporter, but we all know that he isn't getting any younger. Gary Johnson may be our next Ron Paul; time will tell.
OK he is really good in interviews. Unlike other candidates like Romney and others. He can just answer it right away and give a really good answer at the same time. We need to have him beat Mitt Romney in 2012 for the primaries and than obama.
Hmm, whilst I like Johnson's platform and record and hope he runs in 2012, I believe he needs to get more practice speaking to the media.
For example, if, say, Palin were to say, "I'm sorry, that went over my head", she'd be destroyed by the media and called idiot, dumb etc. If Johnson repeated these words in an election, Obama's team, the Democrats and the media would portray him as an idiot, as they do with all Republicans.
Gotta be more careful with words in this media-driven world...
Well he's honest with it. And he's not dumb by any means. I mean the guy went from a handyman to owning the largest construction company in NM. Also he has probably the best resume out of any candidate.
Well smoking weed is probably the best move to decide if you want to legalize it or not. Most people who've never smoked it thinks it's the worst thing in the world. Now I think drinking and doing drugs of any kind are bad.
@cpblackangel88 You're missing the point. Does the average user deserve to be thrown in prison for possesion. It's a huge injustice and cost billions of tax payer dollars every year. The average user is far less dangerous than the average social drinker. Wise up!
I'm ok with legalizing weed but I don't want the government involved in it... I don't want them taxing it other than the local sales tax. Once they start depending on it as a income they will move to cocaine and/or heroin. They are already pumping us full of dangerous over priced narcotics to dumb us down so they can fleece us
They do it with the fake science of psychiatry

@MrNationalistpride This is why I support Ron Paul over Gary Johnson, Legalize and dont tax it... And dont legalize it so you can smoke it... cause its everywhere already and you can smoke it whenever you want... legalize it to legalize HEMP. The only reason weed is illegal is because of hemp and hemp is illegal because of its compeditors, OIL, PETRO CHEMICALS, LUMBER, PAPER, FOOD, CLOTH, ROPE etc etc lobbying against it. The only reason HEMP is illegal is because it looks like weed, honestly
