@donnamaryann About the shock reaction, that is exactly what I said 14 hours before you and have been for 8 months on other YT threads. The withdrawal symptom effect of dropping Tegretol killed her. It was not the fault of the parents or the priests but the lack of knowledge in those days about how dangerous meds can be. Nowadays it says in the medication notes that to drop it is 'life-threatening'. The Court that sentenced them never realized what Tegretol can do to you. A mistake of justice.

I don't know what the truth is for certain and am not prepared to lay down a line, but I think that the protagonists in this affair deserve that one make an effort to put forward the facts as they appeared to them at the time. I have never argued that demons or the exorcism killed her.

Anneliese said that the demons who screamed were not here, but they were panicking at the idea of being expelled. She said the exorcism didn't hurt her. The Catholic Church forbids the filming of exorcisms as an invasion of the religious privacy of the afflicted. The tapes were merely designed as a personal record of the priest's to get an accurate record to report to the bishop confidentially. It was a fluke that they got out into the open as a result of the trial in 1978.
