  • Thank you SNES *-*

  • Such an Underrated Beat em up game!!!!!

  • This sounds like that X-men game that came out of the Super NES

  • Sweet game here!! I stumbled upon this vid while looking for a vid on the old Peace Keepers game! I do agree with the YT user "tahadag" above whe states games are memories! I recall doing a lot of chores every Saturday morning in my teens just for my Mom to give me money to rent or buy a game from this old Mon 'n' Pop video store! I recall munchin' on Frito pies and slurpin on Ocean Water ( Coconut flavored soda) from Sonic's in between levels!! Again, awesome game and video!!

  • I have rented this game twice and me and my brother farm this game for 2 days non stop

  • SPAK

  • This game will be coming to the Wii VC soon!

  • @mitsuninja Just not on the US VC for some reason.

  • @gr8gmr It will come on the US VC but Nintendo is draggin its ass to release games for it now eventhough there is a shit ton games that have been ESRB rated.

  • @mitsuninja Well I hope it comes to the VC really soon. I kind of miss this game. I would be pissed if this game takes a month or months before it comes out.

  • @gr8gmr Yea I hear ya, I wouldnt mind playing this game again myself. Thats what I love about the VC... it gives you a 2nd chance to play the games you missed as a child the legit way, its just too bad Nintendo is dragging their feet..

  • @mitsuninja it's on VC.

  • @S0ryiu yea, just havent had a lot of time to try and DL it, been busy with zelda Skyward Sword and the 3ds and the ambassader games

  • Sweet sweet memories :')

  • Slash is the best guy in this game, seriously.

  • God the fuckin ninja was the shit he raped so much face! He was seriously the only character I'd ever use.

  • This was indeed an awesome game and offered more depth than most of the other brawlers at the time.

  • is there some sort of order to the sewers? i need help here

  • I remember buying this brand new for $5 at Toys R Us back in the day. Me and my friend had a blast with this game!

  • The sewer and character select theme aren't on youtube and it's a shame. I wish i could do it by myself.

  • @izillian

Get Audio Overload. You can convert gaming files to mp3's and upload them to youtube. Pretty easy stuff!

  • @RainMan34 Interesting... thank you. And the sewer theme is finally on youtube, I recommend everybody to visit SNESost channel, he's the one who did it.

    Very cool and pro channel.

  • Rival Turf

    Brawls Brothers

    Peace keepers

    Jaleco ruled the 90s.

  • i love the music on this game, great game back in the days.

  • Can someone explain to me what an emulator is and what it does? It might sound dumb of me to ask but I'm not really in tune with this stuff.

  • Dude anyone know any good snes and genesis emulators and where i can find them? Been wanting to download em but i'm having trouble. I'm not too much of a computer wiz. Someone plz help me.

  • my 2nd snes game =)

  • Oh man i played this so much. The sewer was such a bitch

  • OMG CLASSIC xD

    Kazan was da best hehe

  • Looks good. I'll try it out.

  • Great memories! Turned it on... oke intro is just plain simple but the after start:

    - Wow 5 players to choose from!

    - Nice dynamic music!

    - Wow cool lvl map overview!

    Playing the game:

    - Nice dynamic music

    - Love the heavy crunch/smack sound/visual balloons.

    - throw enemies to other enemies

    - Very easy to control!

And yes the last stage has exactly the same track from Rival turf. Brawl brothers was a huge imptrovement! This game is arcade worthy, it has the same sensation.

  • I know man. I agree with you completely on all counts. I love everything about this game.

That bass is funky! The level designs are good. The visual balloons add a nice comedic super hero touch to the fighting. And the controls schemes are probably one of the strongest points of the game.

And I had no idea about the last track being the same. Cool stuff

  • @kinmanyuen i actually dont like the music, i think its too light and a bit weak. however the actual game, is a really fun game

  • @kinmanyuen This game was a huge improvement over Rival Turf.. more characters, better level designs and graphics, more moves, better control and the enemies weren't as cheap

  • jaleco was also seen in R-TYPE 3.the third lighting.

  • Very nice game

  • Jaleco of America was like 4Kids; they made localized versions worse than the Japanese versions.

  • haha, i remember this game. a similar game came out a year earlier called Rival Turf, remember that? the music and sound fx took me WAAAY back, haha. nice upload.

  • I definitely remember Rival Turf. In fact, in case I'm not mistaken, Brawl Brothers is actually a spiritual sequel to Rival Turf... both made by Jaeleco and both featuring extremely similar gameplay/characters/etc.

The music and sfx give me wood. :)

Glad people enjoy watching this game. It's a lot more fun to play.

  • In Japan it's actually more of a direct sequel. All are part of the Rushing Beat series. The continuity wasn't maintained when bringing them over here, and a lot of changes were made. In fact, the third one, Rushing Beat Syura, has really good music compared to the US version, The Peacekeepers.

  • I wasn't aware that the US version of Peacekeepers HAD music. Not really. Just a few ambient noises. WTF were the developers thinking? It's almost like they just decided that american audiences would prefer a boring experience.

But you're right. Trying to think back , Rival turf didn't seem to feature too many connections to BB.

  • @RainMan34 2 of the selectable characters in Brawl Brothers resembled the 2 characters from Rival Turf.. other than that not much of a connection

  • Well.. did you know the last stage music of BB is exactly the same from Rival Turf's 1st stage? :)

  • Is it me or do the enemy's look like captain falcon?

  • SUPER SMASHHHH BROTHERRRS BRAWL!!!!!!!!!! BOUAAAHHH!!! lol what a name rip off

  • The Super Smash Brothers series wasn't out yet.

  • fun game

  • love the lime green ninja with pink sneakers. I have a new respect for mortal kombat

  • Awesome Ninja moves must be complimented by cutting edge choices in designer pump wear and green slacks.

  • cool game, you were great dude!

actually, kazan was my personal favorite, too.

although, i must admit, he reminds me of casey jones from TMNT a little xD

  • Kick ass! I can't believe i missed this one. I can't believe I had never heard of it til today!

  • Pretty awesome game bro. You won't be disappointed!

  • Sweet!! Thanks for lettin' me know!

  • damn man this game is prettie fuckin hard.

  • the guy on the far right looks like bison

  • cool beat em up...just reviewed that game on my channel...though, be looking out for part 2 of it (since i have the first one on there).

  • Just imagine a "Now Loading..." screen at each of the black screens, cuz there should be one as damn long as this game takes to load. LOL

  • i have this game awesome =D

  • same here!

  • I've never played this game or peacekeepers. I'm only familiar with Rival Turf.

Does the plot connect at all to Rival Turf, and are Jack Flak or Oozie Nelson in this game?

  • I am not too sure. I never played Rival Turf more than beyond renting it once back in the mid 90's and remember very little about the game.

  • i still have this game too bit i havent finished it in a while so i will just watch you play it

  • It seemed like Jaleco messed w/ even the MAIN characters every time...they would change their names or nicknames, their fighting moves, even the presumed RACE of 1 of the characters! O_O Flak is basically Hack/Rick Norton in this game and stays that way in part 3 of the series (Rushing Beat in Japan), but, yeah: it's Peace Keepers in the U.S. :) Nelson becomes Slash/Doug Bild and sometimes looks white, while black at other times!

  • I wish they wouldn't have messed with it. It just ends up confusing everyone.

  • not the best beat em up game ever, but fun somehow, much better than rival turf (thankfully)

  • Damn this game brings back memories . this was one of my favorite games for SNES. i always used the ninja. lol

  • I spent summers playin this game. I couldnt get enough. This music rocks

  • Rushing Beat Rulez Brawl Brothers REALLY SUCKS why didnt they leave it on the original japanese version

  • Actually, you can actually use a code to change this game into Ran;though I don't really know why this game is STILL hard besides the change of language.

  • Jaleco did a great job for sequel to rivalturf. It has great graphics, sound and music is fantastic!

This game has that special arcade feeling.

    The excitement of a coin-up.

The kick in the cross was censored in the us/europe release.

One badass move is to stand still on top of a knocked down guy and press punch once. For example the character Wendy will do a backwardflip and land hard with her feet.

  • ;) I absolutely agree. Brawl Brothers is one game that has aged very well. Still very fun to just pick up and play.

The game design is well done and the level layouts are creative. Also the number of characters at the players disposal diversifies the replay value.

And God! The music is simply phenomenal.

That being said, it wasn't a very popular game. It makes you wonder how such a good game could fall under the radar.

  • 'probably cos it wasn't made by Sega for its own system (SoR) or by Capcom; 1 of the earliest promoters of beat-em-ups.

  • You mean the Nut Cracker?

    It was formerly handicraft.

  • Ye level1 music can sound a bit strange... but then again it's Japanese style..

  • brawl brothers boasts one of the most unforgivingly cheap enemies you'll see. they're so unfair you'll pull your hair off and will develop the New Jersey dialect.thugs will combo you out beetween them like no tomorrow.even an avid beat em up player like me has been pissed playing it.

  • LMFAO!

  • I'm a HUGE Final Fight nut,but I like the Rival Turf/ Brawl Brothers games as well. A lot of people are bitching on these games, don't know why, they're pretty fun. Bought this game today :)Found a complete snes in the trash (yes, people just threw it away)and it worked! :) Now I have a reason to buy a lot of great snes beat'm ups, oh and sunset ridersof course ;)

  • A perfectly good SNES in the trash? People are so wasteful these days. Oh well, one man's trash is another man's treasure. ;)

Anyways, good work buying this game! How did you obtain it?

There are so many amazing games for the SNES. Happy hunting!

  • Yeh, its my job to collect paper and glas/ metals for a second hand/ recycle store. It just stood there between the bottles and cans :)

I bought the game at a dutch auction site, now looking for the 2 other final fight games. ;)

  • Wow. Rock on man!

  • which final fight gmaes are you missing

  • All except the original ;)

  • I'm so glad you saved that SNES from the trash! It really pisses me off when I hear about anyone throwing away a still working game or system!

  • Looking back, I think I PREFER these games to the Final Fight series (3 had SWEET moves too, but was too short/easy).

  • Fun game. I prefer the Japanese version though.

  • ppl think games are just games there not the have memories packed full in every stage those times when u were wid friends or family staying and stuff eating icecream games aremore than plastic cartidges they are our good times and bad times and FUCKIN HELL does this game bring memories loool green guy the best...

  • I LOVED that game. Whatever happened to fun games like that? SNES may not have a lot of graphics(it did back then)but it sure did have great funfactor. Now they try to make realistic shooting games to train you for the army. I'm not hatin on those games all Im saying is that in order to enhance something, u have to subtract something and that something is funfactor.

  • The weirdest thing about this game is that jump attacks do the SAME damage as some punch combos, and some grabs like Rick Norton's/Hack's shoulder throw. It almost made other moves seem worthless. On the other hand, jump attacks in Rival Turf made you INVINCIBLE while you were at the peak of your jump, but I'm sure you 2 fans know that :)

  • SHoulda used Hack dude. He has the "Hundred Crack Fist" of the North Star. Minus the exploding top-piece tho.

  • haha. Hack's "power punch" wasn't as effective against multiple enemies as Kazan's special, but they're both quite good :)

  • please bring this game to the wii channel.

  • jaleco

  • holy shit...memories

  • I've played this game and I'm a Beat em Up/Fighting Gamer who loves to play the Action but I'm also a RPG/Racing/Sports Gamer too.

  • this game was fun but to me it was kinda like a spin off of final fight/streets of rage/and street fighter. but good music though especially the sewer stage

  • True. But I never really cared for the contrived nature of some games, after all they're just games, and if you have fun that's it imo.

  • love this game!

  • Which Streets of Rage are you referring to? I consider the quality of each game in the series to be highly different.

Streets of Rage 2 is probably my favorite 'Bare Knuckle' game but Brawl Brothers is pretty tight too.

  • I guess I'm weird cos sometimes I think SoR3 was my fave' all-time beat-em-up, but then again, I like beat-em-ups that NO one likes...O.O

  • Naw man. I loved Streets of Rage 3. It's SOOOO RAD.

  • You liked part 2 better though, right? I know there are a few peeps like me that liked 3 the best :P I liked the extra specials they added, how you could run and dodge, do extra moves w/ weapons, interactive backgrounds, and I sorta liked Zan better than Max cos Max didn't have a cool grab like Haggar in Final Fight 3. It's too bad there wasn't a mania difficulty though!

  • Yup. I like the 2nd better, largely b/c of the music, though the third one has one of the COOLEST soundtrack I've heard for a fighting game. Really experimental, rhythmically intense and dissonant. I think it scared a lot of people off! It's awesome though, no doubt.

There is no question that 3 is more playable than 2 for reasons you mentioned.

Screw Mania difficulty! Streets of Rage 3 is hard enough on the intermediate level.

  • I KNEW it! haha. 'but yeah: SoR3 is hard enough--even if you pick Blaze on the hard dif. 'Also, I think it's a bit annoying when a game makes you fight the same bosses again toward the end of the game (although games like that wind up being cool anyway!). On the other hand, I wish Brawl Brothers were harder :P 'including the bosses. I mostly like it for the little things.

  • S o R 3 was the most challenging of the 3 imo.

Brawl Brothers certainly isn't enormously difficult. The bosses are embarrassingly easy. Kazan's special can basically PWN every boss in a matter of seconds without breaking a sweat. Such a game mechanic ultimately breaks the game if used efficiently.

Furthermore, the intelligence of the A.I. on HARD doesn't seem to differ much from normal difficulty.

Minus that, the game is well designed IMO.

    Final Fight clone or not!

  • I guess Kazan could outlast Bild's clone w/ his special (Bild's 1 of the harder ones, or it's just cos of the smaller arena space).

'YEAH: I find it weird and fascinating, what ppl consider as hard games. I have a friend who can beat basically any game he's ever played (he says pretty much no one can beat Battletoads 1 on nes, I think it was), yet he said he has trouble w/ Double Dragon 1 on the original Gameboy, and Final Fight on snes. Did you see the SoR3 Skate speed runs? WOW haha

  • It's no streets of rage but it's as close as the SNES got

  • This was my all time favorite super nintendo game and the best side scrolling beat em up games ever. I have this game by the way. We need more games like this. Brawl Brothers rule!

  • I agree! We definitely could use some brawl brothers type action these days.

  • I freakin love this game... i've rented it from a local videostore 3 times for a whole week... 12 years later i still like to play this game! Great music tracks!

  • this game seriously pwns!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was da best beat em up ever man

  • Now some may view this as a Final Fight Ripoff..but its the best damn Final Fight Ripoff out there. To think it all started with Rival Turf and with Brawl Brothers as the sequel. The third installment of the series Peace Keepers though...I dunno, was kinda a dissapointment to me.

  • I totally agree that this is one of the better 'clones' out there. I also believe that its a bit better than Final Fight in terms of move selection and definitely one of the best beat em ups for the Super Nintendo.

    Great fun!

  • I did not know this game was made?

  • I just tried the Japanese version and it is slightly better then the US version.

  • Since when is that ever the case? /sarcasm. How is it better, though?

  • Japanese version has no mazes like in level 1 an d the stage with the elevators which are time consuming. It takes you through the stage the quickest way without the need for the US version of the mazes.

  • I happen to really LOVE the sewers. Mostly cuz of the bitchin' funky bassline that compliments it.

As far as speed runs go, the Japanese version would be easier, but I would prefer the maze intact on the NA version. It gives the level design a new palette and I am ALL about diversification of scenery.

  • There is a trade-off though. Peace Keepers has multitap feature for more than two players.

  • I tried peace keepers (the sequel to this) but it was crap in my opinion, there wasn't even any music to get me pumped to beat up on bad guys. This one looks MUCH better.

  • I understand what you mean. The ambience is TERRIBLE. However, the music in the Japanese version of 'Peace Keepers' (titled 'Rushing Beat Syura') is phenomenal. In fact, a few of the tracks from Brawl Brothers find their way into Syura. Its a very balanced game but for my money I appreciate Brawl Brothers quite a bit more.

  • You should join me online with it. :)

  • I'm there. Let me know how to do this. It'd be fun to play this game online!

  • Not now though. Gotta sleep. If you use msn then you can add me. My msn is on my website main page in the header.

  • Sure! Peace out.
