  • Johnson and Johnson has discontinued their First Aid Cream. It was the best stuff on the market.. Its gone from every drug store and supermarket.

  • My first aid kit, includes, pressure dressings, triangular bandages, general bandages, quick splints, forceps, scissors, blood pressure cuff, a stehoscope, pocket mask, cleaning solutions, cold compress, heat compress, thermometer, penlight, Insta-Glucose (Glucogel), etc. I am also getting an A.E.D., and an oxygen kit with a complete set of oral and nasal airways.

  • where do you get heat packs?

  • You can get them at almost any medical store. A store like London Drugs may also sell heat packs.

  • thanks

  • no problem :)

  • @TRIXSTER03 could you make a video on your first aid kit?

  • @kambelzful ----I may do that soon. I will keep you posted

  • @TRIXSTER03 thank you

  • yea i know that my kit is very crude and my methods are not standard but it is a FIRST aid kit. the purpose of a FAK in my opinion is to stop bleeding, infection and farther damage long enough for the person to get to a hospital and have real help. in most situations my solution only has to be the answer for the next 15-30 minutes until a hospital can be reached.

plus i dont have to dig through complicated stuff. if its bleeding stop it if its open close it if its broken imobilize it. simple

  • my FAK includes rubbing alcohal. surgical tubing ruber gloves super glue. gause. medical tape. maxipads to soak up blood and larger pads of whats on bandaids(the name escapes me at this moment) and a knife

with this i can stop bleeding clean wounds apply touniquets(yes i know thats a no no but in FIRST aid it can save a life if a limb is lost)

    superglue can close deep gashes

tape and a stick from anything make a splint and sling if your crafty.

  • the wound.

  • Medicine in a first aid kit? Would you be using that kit for your family only, or the general public. Because if it's the genral public you should have a medication administration module as you need to know the effects of the specific medication & warn the patient about that medications effects. Otherwise you can be held liable if something goes wrong. Futhermore, first aid cream/ ointments such as polysporin or anti-disinfectent cream are not recommended as they are proven to keep bacteria in

  • Home type first aid kit. With medicines.

  • Yes that's obvious. I said would you be using this for your family only or the general public. She said it's a family FAK but that doesn't mean she won't use it on people in the general public. Lets say Tracy's neighbour was having a heart attack, if she were to give him ASA tablets, without knowing the effects of ASA and not warning the Pt. about any risks, then she can be held liable. Putting medicines in a home FAK are ok you just have to be sure to only use it on designated family members
