  • In regard to Qualqui's comments, the quality of James Bond storytelling with the series here is notable. If James Bond could be more like Pat McGoohan & his stories, there would be more women and girls interested in the whole enterprise. James Bond movies are too sexist. Star Trek had some good women role models though. More hot babes in the sciences, I say -- ERICS's X, from the ERA/DOE (Education)

  • well done randy, I love moon river but maybe 6 by 6 by earl van dyke would have been more apt.

  • I totally agree with mustangs7, 6 stars! And now in regards to the series 'The Prisioner' , don't remember hearin' or watchin' that tv series, has intrigued me even more, with mustangs7 comment, you wouldn't happen to know where i can buy this series, on dvd or vhs? Take care Randy and keep up with them cool vids!

  • Excellent video

  • Six stars!

There's also six points on that coffin.

Man, I think I'm gonna' buy the whole series now. I just loved watching it when I got home from work. It's great escapism.

Well, I still have his other show to watch.

    Miss ya' Pat

  • You appear to have six on the brain ;)

The Prisoner was a great series - nice tribute.

  • Patrick McGoohan breathed life into every character he played. Check out his acting in Ice Station Zebra--he made the rest of the actors look like Zombies. My favorite was the Scarecrow--he scared the poop out of me as a kid in that role. His John Drake made the james Bonds look like chimps. RIP Patrick, and thanks for the memories.

  • Great tribute he'll always be # 6 ,but # 1 to all fans of the prisoner we'll miss u # 6 R.I .P Thank ! for mak'n 1 of the coolest show ever . Mike

  • Gods speed! I hope he is acting in his next life. He brought such joy into our lives.

  • Excellent video!!! 5*****

    Gaby.

  • "I am not a number. I'm a free man." God bless you Mr. McGoohan.

  • Amazing.

  • Patrick McGoohan in Heaven looks down to us faithful devotees on Earth and says,

    "Be seeing you!"

  • good video

  • I never knew McGoohan turned down Bond on religious grounds. How interesting, and sad because he woulda been brilliant in the role.

  • I am not sure that a less promiscuous Bond would have scored!

  • McGoohan as Bond would likely be closer to what Ian Fleming had imagined

  • A fascinating tribute to a lost friend...

  • Thank your Wonderful story !

  • Very Good..!!, Wonderful Tribute!!!, thanks.., Kisses!!

  • HOLY SHIT Pickwick8080. Do you think you've commented enough times on this video?

  • YES - I also loved my EARLY BATMAN and ROBIN with PENGUIN and JOKER but THE PRISONER was the best ever series due partly to their outstanding performances by so many actors under Patricks direction.

  • i dont know how you found out i was a big fan of the prisoner but im greatful to you for letting me no that he has passed away ....... at least he wont have to suffer the remake series im sure will not be as good

  • good point - Remakes seldom if ever excel

  • are they intending to remake in PORTMEIRION?

  • from what iv heard no!

the only other thing i know is its from the writers of sharp and work was due to start last September i don't know anything else unfortunatly ....... be seeing you ;)

  • RIP Patrick McGoohan...

  • A very wonderful tribute to a friend. A fascinating sound to feel such a great loss.

  • Sound advice from PM in 1977. In the interview he said "We should pull back and consolidate"

  • excellent, as always

    I really enjoyed it

  • very good

  • very good, nice *****

  • very good video, nice song moon river, King sax, very good all! Special thanks to you

  • PROPS

The type of helicopter was an ALOUETTE II.

Number 2s globe-type chair was an Eero Aarnio Chair

ROVER - the enforcer - was actually an 8ft weather balloon

  • THE VILLAGE - 3

GeorgeMarkstein - a former reporter on British Intelligence during WWII - and who actually appears in the series - swears that such a place existed in real life - where real secret agents were housed after the war.

  • He has a long career in classic films such as "Hell Drivers" and was the genius behind "The Prisoner" not to mention Columbo episodes.

  • The cast of Hell Divers was truly amazing.

Stanley Baxter - Peggy Cummings - Patrick McGoohan - Herbert Lom -William Hartnell - Wilfred Lawson - Sid James -- Jill Ireland - Alfie Bass - Gordon Jackson - David McCollum - Sean Connery etc etc etc

  • Very Nice Tribute THANKS

  • The alternative title to Patricks attempt at direction - CATCH MY SOUL - was - SANTA FE SATAN

  • THE VILLAGE - 2

The Village newspaper was called Tally Ho - suggesting that it serves not a peaceful retirement community but possibly somewhere where life resembles a fox hunt

  • bellissimo

  • My huckleberry friend I will be waiting around the bent moon river and I. You will find the rainbows end Patrick! Rest in Peace See you again some where some time.

    ROGER VALENTINE

  • Nice video for him.. RIP Patrick..

  • good bye patrick..

Be seeing you on the other side of morning.

  • rest in peace

  • On the one Danger Man VHS video I own, John Drake rents hotel room number 6, and seems to encounter the number a lot in other ways on his adventures in Europe and on a pirate radio oil rig. I've wondered if the number appears frequently in other work he's done. Well, no matter what The Village represented to Patrick, he has escaped it now. I can only hope wherever he is is ready for him. A powerful actor with a strong presence, he will be greatly missed.

  • He was a great actor.

  • Good job Randomatness. RIP Patrick. I have loved Patrick's work since his early tv days and 1st movies.

  • very sweet, very good! well done !

  • excellent!

  • OMG no.6 can't die! He is a free man!

    Also he was supposed to be in the remake ;_;

  • love it! thank you for it! are you making more for him??

    God is God of Wonders

  • FUCK NO!!!! WHY DID THE GOOD GUYS HAVE TO LEAVE? I am not saying goodbye but be seeing you! RIP PATRICK Yòu will be missed today and always

  • r i p patrick. You have been with me always

  • RIP Patrick. you`ll be missed

  • thank you and thank you for sharing

  • Thank you for telling me, in my country his death went unnoticed. Sorry, sorry, and so we are... (Keane).

  • Hi Folk - if anyone knows a source to the film CATCH MY SOUL (also known under another title containing SATAN ) - please post a comment - thank you - randy

  • Catch My Soul was the only full length feature film directed by Patrick -1973 I think -- it got very poor reviews - it was claimed to have been hampered by Patricks languorous direction - it is claimed that he kept Jack Goods rock opera version of Shakespears ORTHELLO at school-grade standards. But I think that possibly it was a script more suited to stage than screen

  • CATCH MY SOUL - 1

The film is set is the American Southwest, and the leading characters are a black evangelist, his flower-child wife and the ill-tempered aggressive leader of a hippie commune who thinks he's Satan and drives an old black school bus with blacked-out windows

Forget the movie and get the soundtrack album

  • CATCH MY SOUL - 2

The poster for this film bears some similarity to surreal scenes in THE PRISONER.

    The poster has

    TOTAL IMMERSION

across surreal images of mind control

    But the dialogue - ooooch!

"Whither thou goest, I will go. Whither thou lodgeth, I will lodge."

  • Another fantastic actor has sadly left us.

I am rather sad now :(

    "Be seeing you" old chap

  • thanks for the vid...nicely done..I never watched the show..I was born in 68 but I know him from three columbo episodes(acting and directing them) and from SILVER STREAK with richard pryor and gene wilder..He and Peter Falk were the best of friends..and according to his daughter he is in stage 4 of alzheimers..he wouldn't remember...love these guys..thanks again! :(

  • RANDOMATNESS EGG

Sixth former writes - you have been POISENED

This relates to Number Six drinking liquid in glass to be able to read message at bottom of glass which read - you have been POISONED

  • THE VILLAGE - 1

    where was it?

In MANY HAPPY RETURNS Number 6 and a colleague place the Village near Morocco and then find it from an aircraft but subterfuge from his captors cast doubt even upon this location.

  • FREEDOM is a MYTH

  • Freedom's just another word for "nothing left to lose."

  • I totally agree

  • You are a ``Free man´´now Patrick...

  • I've never seen the tv show. but liked the video. thanks.

  • Nice one.. R.I.P. Patrick Goohan. He is a 'Free Man' now. A quality mind and actor.

  • Gracias por el video... Un saludo!

  • Nice tritube to one of the best actors.

  • Hmm, I always thought the prisoner was just some dumb show... and now.. after watching this... i still think its just a really bad show.

  • What do you think of the spin off music from the series - for example the heavy metal IRON MAIDEN tracks such as BACK IN THE VILLAGE or THE PRISONER

  • Random indeed.

    Texas?

I appreciate the dedication. . . The Prisoner is possibly the best TV show ever.

  • Wild, Wild West Texas

    Sheriff of HARMONY!

If you only ever see one episode - make it this one!

  • Oh yes. . . I've watched them all on video tape years ago.

I forgot that Harmony was in Texas.

  • Sweet tribute , well done !

  • "I am not a number" is the line that sticks with me.

  • And what's left, but a giant chessboard.

  • It has been said of Patrick that he was as of a Chessboard - either black or white with no in-between.

  • Very moving. Patrick would be proud!

  • very sweet, very good, excellent sax

  • That's nice of you to make tribute for a Patrick McGoohan,he was a real star,i don't think we'll have anymore people like Patrick McGoohan,he deserved much more attention from the Hollywood and the World but that was not the case he was a true free spirit to be chained to some stupid Hollywood rules, and he was also the Prisoner of his own conditioning and a rebellion against their rules, anyway The Prisoner series will be remembered by the ones for whom it is intended to remember.

  • Very nice tribute

  • McGoohan was way ahead of his time with his work on "The Prisoner". He'll be sorely missed but never forgotten.

  • I was 17 and this stuck to me like glue. or a diamond bullet. well, look at my logo! No one seems to understand my little catch phrase. maybe here....and the theme; "History is a nightmare from which I am trying to awaken", seems apropos...."Be seeing you". Many happy returns. Gotta run...

  • PATRICK info - 6

After a visit to Portmeirion he wondered what would happen to such as his character John Drake if he was imprisoned in such a place. THE PRISONER was conceived!

  • PATRICK info - 5

THE PRISONER was created because Patrick wanted to make an intelligent series on TV to explore his intense feelings regarding personal freedom within society and its need for the individual to conform.

  • PATRICK info - 4

MOBY DICK REHEARSED -a play written and directed by Orson Welles

What a theatrical experience the 1955 London production must have been! Gordon Jackson - Christopher Lee - Patrick McGoohan - Orson Welles - Kenneth Williams - Joan Plowright

  • PATRICK info - 3

He would only accept roles that put brains before the gun - and for this and other reasons rejected offers to play THE SAINT and JAMES BOND

  • The Declaration of Arbroath. April 6,1320.

    FREEDOM!

  • PATRICK info - 2

As a young actor he created a persona of an angry young man and impressed such as Orson Welles who starred him in MOBY DICK REHEARSED

  • PATRICK info - 1

As a young actor at Sheffield Rep - Patrick fell in love with a fellow actress. He wrote love letters every day until they married - on one day between matinee and evening performances. Their marriage was a lasting and happy one.

  • impressive. Impressed I am.

  • Wow. It's a tribute.

  • excellent song excellent video

  • GRACIAS por lo compartir Nesi! ***** =)

  • What a nice tribute ..and light history lesson too! Loved Patrick, he was a fantastic actor, he would smile at this. Good job!!!!

  • Number Six: I am not a number — I am a free man!

    Nice tribute, Randy, thank-you!

  • There were giants in the world in those days.

McGoohan was not No. 6, he was a giant of a human being and with his passing, as he Longshanks into The Unknown, the world becomes diminished and takes a giant step on its Journey Into Darkness.

There have been giant actors and giant men, but very few who have been both - and now the age of such giants is over; let us hope it is not soon forgotten.

Goodbye Patrick; but I'll be seeing you.

  • It's sad :-'(

  • Amazing tribute!

    So cute of *YOU*

    Thanks.

  • Who is the number 1, anyway?

  • Patrick McGoohan was No. 1 as 'Prisoner's' Number 6

  • Why was The Prisoner number 6?

  • only No.1 knows

  • great!!! 5*****

  • Erm...why does it say at the end that the video is dedicated to Patrick McGowan!?

  • Throughout his life Patrick suffered people mis-spelling or mis-pronouncing his name

  • try typing in McGoohan into word spell checker!

  • Gracias,nesi,por enviármelo,bonito tributo!!!

    Excelente!!

  • Clever, very clever.

  • great video

  • Great

  • Debe de ser un merecido tributo McGOOgan.

el seis, el çumero de los enamorados...para otros un significado distinto...

    Gracias Nesi.

  • very very nice

  • BEAUTIFUL WORK.

    THANKS

    GEETINGS

  • Fantasticoo!! gracias por compartir...

    muy hermoso,bella musica

  • Thank you for that, the update, the memory and the insight. The Prisoner was a novel forward thinking, intellectualesque series that forged new frontiers and has to be seen within the conventional television formulae of the period. Unfortunately for this lost son of Leitrim, his acting life later dissolved into a morphed version of his fictional No 6 character. Consequently, he became another prisoner destined to spend his life searching for his new nemesis, himself the real Number One...random?

  • whats this shit and why did you send it to me? I don't have a single clue about whats going on here

  • Excelente: creativo, mensaje emotivo... edición musical... maravillosa!!!

    Saludos cordiales,

    José Luis, arpista.

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODES 15,16 and 17

    THE GIRL WHO WAS DEATH

Number Six tells a story to the children of the Village

    ONCE UPON A TIME

Number Six suffers a ruthless week-long interrogation

    FALL OUT

    All is revealed

  • THE PRISONER - FINAL EPISODES

The series THE PRISONER ended suddenly and bizarrely. There should have been 22 episodes but budget money run out after episode 14 - partly due to massive expenditure on a few special scenes - for example - the bunker missile firing rock concert escape scene in FALL OUT (episode 17) which had been shot much earlier. Three final episodes were screened - 15, 16 and 17

  • Precioso video,

    preciosa musica.

    Todas las estrellas.

    Angel

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 14

    LIVING IN HARMONY

My vote for the best episode. Harmony is a truly out of control Wild West Town. Number 6 is hustled into becoming the sheriff. But Number 6 refuses to carry a gun. His refusal to arm himself is tested to the limit by outlaw The Kid. The series had many superb guest performances but surely none better than in this one.

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 13

DO NOT FORSAKE ME OH MY DARLING

Number 6 is free - but his mind is inside another mans body - that of a scientist also wanted by the Village authorities. The plot thickens - Number 6s former superior officer gets involved - Number 6 was the last contact with a missing Professor. Number 6 must trace his reversal!

The missing professor is of course the inventor of the process of transmitting minds from one body to another.

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 12

    A CHANGE OF MIND

Can sound waves and drugs can alter Number 6s personality. Can the attractive female enduce him to reform. Why did he resign? But he spots her drugging his tea. Will the treatment instead make for total loss of memory? By swopping the cups of drugged tea Number 6 wins yet another battle with Number 2.

  • Fantastic tribute to No.6 recently been watching the re-run of "The Prisoner" - a classic.

Your videos are hugely entertaining, humour, art, information and wonderful choice of music.

    5*.....Barbara

  • GOOD ABSTRACTIONS ! I liked the Dali & Cezzane interspersions... is that a word? lol

  • I think that I can answer this one!

Yes it is MOON RIVER by ACKER BILK

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 11

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 9

Who and where is the General? What is the one question the General cannot answer?

  • Well Random...I was reluctant to comment on your time video as seeing i had no comment. But now i can comment on both your great videos.Firstly time chose you to invite me, time chose me to decline with a quip over The Prisoner. Time then dictated you to propose a possible number tribute. Then time sadly took Mr McGoohan and heres your tribute. Was it coincidence? No. Just time being time. Cheers mate, much appreciated.

  • I enjoyed the show. Sad to know he's gone.

  • Fantastic video and excellent music !

    Great job !

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 5

The calendar has been put back several days Everyone in The Village greets him as No. 12, instead of No.6

  • Sadly Pickwick, we both ended up beeing in line to see a tribute and not a numbers video. Funny, these little time co-incidence's tend to do these things. Love the episode synopsis your doing. Your educating people on a well done, timeless work of art. Keep it up! Cheers!

  • The TIME as it passes plunder us of one thing after another

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 4

    FREE FOR ALL

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 3

6 is confronted with three subjects A, B, and C, whom might have been used to escape. Surveillance is always invisible, its power from its secrecy. 6 - always striving to expose power - remarks: "I want to know who I'm selling out to. We all must know!"

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 2

Obliterate it—and you with it." He plans escape with a beautiful Russian spy - builds a boat as abstract art.

  • THE PRISONER - EPISODE 1

Having handed in his resignation, No. 6 packs for a holiday. He faints and when he awakens he is in a strange village.

He is to remain a prisoner for a long, long time - strange menacing world.

A waitress at an open-air cafe recognizes him as a newcomer to "The Village".

The taxis are "beach buggies" for local journeys only.

No one has a name - only a number. The Prisoner's is No.6

No. 1 trusts no one - Number 2 comes and goes. And so the scene is set.

  • what was so great about mcgoohan, apart from being prisoner no. 6 ? that's why i give this vid two short of a sixer (as in cricket)!

  • He strongly associated his life style with that of his creation.

The village was a setting that was trying to destroy him by every possible way - trying to break his spirit so that he would accept life as a number. How could YOU be so mean on your score card to RANDOMATNESS.

  • so-o sorry for my ignorance! pls forgive me...
