this vid helped alot! you're right, there aren't alot of vids on here specifically for clear ceramic braces...My ortho appointment is in a week, I'm glad I found your channel...
@xXLaEssence0FiSISXx I'm glad my videos helped you! I hope everything goes well with your braces. I see you left this comment 3 weeks ago so you probably have yours on now. How is it going?
@crimsonsmile07 I go for my third tightening in two weeks, so far everything has been great! I started with a big gap between my two front teeth and it's half its size now (I am sooo excited about that:) The power chain my ortho put on is really helping...How are your teeth coming along?
Hi, first of all let me just think you. for making this video! ;-) I'm getting ceramic braces on the 16th of this month! i'm having mixed emotions... happy, nervous and everything in between...and i'm going to subscribe! to see what I have to look foward to. And maybe you can answer any questions I may have....
@facenmyfears You're welcome :) Sure any questions you have I'll try and answer them the best I can. I had the same emotions when I got my braces. Its worth it though :)
@crimsonsmile07 UR SO STUPID DID U EVER LOOK AT UR VIDEO AGAIN or did u just post it cuz u knew it was horrible to look at cuz u said it was blue. Why dont u grow up and stop giving attitude ugly bitch.
@oOMuzikLovaOo Umm. First off you're the one who gave the attitude. I did look at my video again and all I said were they were blue "disks". I can't help it if they aren't blue where you live in canada. And by the way you use grammar I bet you are what? 14? Yeah, thats what I thought. Stop trying to make yourself feel better by throwing around insults and curse words because it makes you feel cool or whatever. Oh and before you decide to try and insult somebody make sure you learn how to spell.
@crimsonsmile07 was it alot of money to get ceramic braces cuz im getting them i dont want the original braces cuz ew i dont like those so do they coast the same as the other ones
hi, hopefully you're still around to ask qs: i'm getting them soon, cermaic top, metal bottom, and i'm wondering about choosing an orthodontist vs. a normal dentist. my dentist said she can do them, but some friends told me go with orthodontist (even though it's more expensive, you have a more experienced individual). what would you say?
@3l3phantz Hmm Good question. If you want your normal dentist to do it I would ask how many braces they have put on and see if they are experienced in that part of dentistry. If not they are not experienced I would say go to an orthodontist because there are things only an orthodontist can tell you about braces, etc.
i'm 21 & getting ceramic braces. i'm scared itll be still pretty noticeable. the dentist informed me that my teeth needed too much moving around for invisalign. which bummed me out.
@lamodedeparis That is a bummer. Well ceramic braces are still noticeable but much less than metal. In pictures and things like that the ceramic braces are hardly noticable. BUT in person yes people can still tell you have them on. I wouldn't worry about it too much, though. Most people actually like looking at peoples teeth with braces on believe it or not. :)
@lamodedeparis hi! i noticed you commented about this 4 months ago, so im asuming you have gotten them already. I'm 14 and wanted to get invisalign too, but i had the same problem as you. Did these braces in person, look like food stuck in your teeth or like weird? do you regret getting them and not normal braces?
@forevermakeup99 Good question. :) No they don't look like food stuck in your teeth.. most people will notice you have something on your teeth but when they asked me about them they always knew they were braces. I don't regret getting them at all They were a lot more comfortable than metal. I have the 3M clarity brand.
does ne of the process make u gag? i'm gettin braces :D but i just h8 that part. I had molds dne n that was awful but...idk about the rest of the procedure
i asked my dentist about invisalign and he said its for not that seriouse cases....my teeth only need a tad straightening though!!....i think my dentist just wants more money...lol.and about the spacers....spacers hurt like hell the second day!!!!! omfg!!....the only thing i had to eat was special K. cause its not crunchy =]....would you recommend ceramic braces or regular braces?
Hey. I wanted invisalign too but my Doc said no. I going through the same problem as you just that i have not extracted my teeth yet. If i were you, i would prefer the ceramic ones.
Invisalign are for very minor movements not really for straightening. Each orthodontist is different in what they are willing to do,though. I like ceramic but I would get the self ligating cermic as they don't use ligatures that can stain with certain foods.
I'm getting braces on Monday, and I'm really confused, cuz the secretary at the dental office wasn't sure if I'd get ceramic or metal braces because they work differently, but everywhere I check, people say the ceramic ones work the same as the metal ones.
If she said that they work differently I would not listen to her...because she doesn't know what she's talking about. Your best bet is to ask the orthodontist directly. You can TELL them you want either ceramic or metal..it is your choice not theirs. Ceramic tend to be more expensive, though. But they do not work differently then metal when it comes to moving teeth, they are however easier to chip but I have had no problem with mine in that regard.
Another difference with braces is if they are self ligating or not. Which refers to if they use the little different colored donut shaped rubberbands on to keep the wire in place or they just pop in. The ones that just pop in(self ligating) move your teeth faster. I hope that helps! Let me know how it goes. :)
I don't think so. But it's possible. I would say your best bet is to call up some of the local orthodontists and see what they say. With invisgalign you have to qualify to wear them if your teeth do not need a lot of improvment. But every orthodontist is different.
Actually metal and ceramic work the same. If you can get brackets that are self ligating those are even better because the different colored "o rings" slow down the process of teeth moving like it would if you had your breaks on while going down a steep hill.
I wish it was more of a set process with how orthodontists take care of teeth but it really is the personal preference of the orthodontist. Sorry about that but hey I bet they look just great!
im assuming she did, i have the same kind of crooked teeth and i asked the dentist about invisiligne and he told me because of the angle of my front tooth i would have to go with braces. Invisiligne is for less severe cases such as a gap in between your teeth or slightly out of line teeth.
Yes, I looked into just about everything. The orthodontist said invisalign would fix my problem but I may have to have braces afterward to get the last movements achieved. Lingual braces were too expensive for my budget but just as effective. Thanks for viewing!
I'm 18 and I'm getting clear braces on Friday. I'm so nervous. I'm worried that I'm too old or that I'll suddenly lisp. I'm worried about the pain too. I'm glad you uploaded a video. Thanks.
Youre welcome. You are never too old. I know of people well into their 40s who have gotten braces. I view it as getting glasses or contacts... its improving yourself, which has no age limit on it.
The lisp shouldnt be too bad. And if it is as first it should lessen or go away over time. I never had a lisp, though. The pain unfortunatly is quite frustrating for about a week sometimes less. But its worth it. Just don't give up. :)
Spacers were quite annoying for about 3 days. after that I barely felt them. Braces tho are different. You always feel them. And they take a bit more time to get used to. It's nothing you can't deal with though. And its all worth it. :)
No there are people well into their 30s who have gotten braces. There are other alternatives to braces like invisalign... most of them are more expensive than braces. If you can afford it and your qualify for invisalign I would go for them. Find a Orthodontist who is willing to sit down with you and answer your questions. Hope that helps!
I am 23M...and now I have started feeling very bad about me teeth. They are uneven and also have a canine protruding out. I was wondering am I too late for getting it straightened. Is there any alternative to wearing the braces for two years? Actually I don't want to look ugly wearing braces for two years.
i know im not amy, but i just got braces 3day. i know that a lot of ppl have the metal ones, and yes they do look bad. my braces arent invisalign. my canine also stick out. i got clear braces that blend in perfectly with your teeth and u can barely see the metal. if u were standing one-two yards away, u wouldnt notice them. the metal in my braces also dont get hard with cold foods, it gets softer so its not painful. its definitely not 2 late for anyone, ur only 23!
I live in the US. I'm not sure how much it would cost in Canada. You could always call around different orthodonists..see what they offer and an estimate of their price.
hey you are so right i am really considering ceramic. i am 23 and metal braces freak me out, i don't want to look like a 13 year old. But then again i want to fix my teeth is better late than never.
yeah I hear ya there. I really didn't want to go for the traditional metal braces because I don't want a lot of attention draw to my teeth until they look better. I figure it's going to draw attention but I'd like to reduce as much as possible. lol And you're right better late than never! I think even with all the things you have to go through with fixing your teeth it's all worth it in the end. Lemme know how your decision goes!
I totally get that point, but I have done both as an adult. Long story, but the first time I was 21 and did the ceramics. Fast forward to 32 after not wearing my retainers!, I did metal. Not to freak you out, but people look no matter what.Either there looking at your crooked teeth, or there trying to figure out what's on your teeth when you have ceramics, or there looking at your metal braces.I think the ceramics are more of a mental thing for the wearer, helps them to feel better about braces.
Yeah I do realize you can see them whether they are metal or ceramic but it is less noticable from far away which helps. I think even with regular braces people look nice in them most of the time so I'm really not that worried about it or I wouldn't be getting them at all. It may be a mental thing but as long as the person feels better about it then I say why not?
I totally agree. Just make sure you wear those retainers or you'll be making this descision all over again in 10 years like I did! lol I still wear mine at night, there the clear trays - essix I think there called. Annoying! But whateva keeps them straight is cool with me! : P
Yeah retainers can be fun. When I was a kid they never had the cool designs or whatever... not that anyone sees it but it makes it personalized and who doesn't like that? lol Anywho, thanks for the advice! I surely don't want to have to go through this all over again! How long do you have to have yours on for the second time?
