Of course, people are free to have religious weddings if they wish and religious institutions are free to decide what they regard as "holy matrimony". If a religious institution performs a purported wedding without a licence, then the marriage is not formed in the eyes of the law. The religious institution could well argue that the couple is married in the eyes of G-d, but the fact of the matter is that more progressive religions have been performing religious same-sex marriages for some time in any event.

Of course, people are free to have religious weddings if they wish and religious institutions are free to decide what they regard as "holy matrimony". This is the case for all couples, whether heterosexual or homosexual.

If a religious institution performs a purported wedding without a licence, then the marriage is not formed in the eyes of the law. The religious institution could well argue that the couple is married in the eyes of G-d, but the fact of the matter is that more progressive religions have been performing religious same-sex marriages for some time in any event.

As to your argument that marriage is usually considered in the eyes of the church, whatever that may be, is not true. Any couple, as long as they're hetero so far, can get married by a justice of the peace and not a religious representative.

Maybe you should actually read what leviticus says, it being the main source of opposition to homosexuality along with Paul (whom I disagree with on numerous grounds). If you're familiar with language translation, the spirit and meaning of sentence and words can get lost in translation. Eg, in a simple way, the words 'kami' and 'tayo' in Tagalog both mean the one word 'we' in English, meaning is lost. even still, words have been added to the Bible, a word less than 200 years old and such were not present in the original texts even in Jewish scripture are in it. Christian just means "follower of Christ," that'd be found in the original texts.

Read Genesis. He also is referred to as "the Word" in the book of Revelation. Christ is also known as "the Great I AM" (meanng I always was, am and will be).

Not to mention that the idea of the trinity was a christian idea and not jewish in origin. And revelations? Really? That was considered as apocraphy in the early christian church and cannot truly be considered an authority for many reasons. It was considered suspect because no one could verify the author.

Revelation 19:13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. (Jesus Christ). If you deny the Trinity, you deny God. The Trinity is mentioned in the Old Testament. The Author of Revelation is John, one of the 12 apostles. He is directly mentioned in the first 2 chapters.

As to the trinity arguement that moves into an entirely different discussion. As for myself I hold that we as humans are unable to fully understand God and that our intrepretations of what it may be are entirely falliable.
