Still got the truck... runs great..

    LOGANS...

  • @MudFatter i really want a toyota 22re. i want to know. if you always abuse the engine like that, how long will the engine last. and also, can it break loose on pavement on 2 wheel drive.

  • @jjearl111

    abuse the engine????

you should see some of these mudding videos other 22re ownershave on youtube.

    a stock 22re only has about 110hp

  • @MudFatter i only plan to own a stock 22re. i want to know if it can stand being driven really hard all the time and still survive

  • @jjearl111 depends on year solid axle vs independent front suspension...

this video was made 3 years i posted it for a friend to show him the truck not the driving... my first standard truck off roading exp.

in retrospect when i watch movies based in south america or africa the 22re seems to be a common vehicle there.

1984 22re efi truck i've heard is the most sought after... 400000km - 600000km is the max mileage before rebuild

  • @MudFatteThey didnt have 22re's in 84's. 85 was the first year they made select 85 models with the 22re. The reason they're so sought after is because its the only year toyota combined EFI with the solid front axle. Not 84.

  • @nebulae87 Thank you!! You are very correct!! I have one of those highly sought after trks! It has a automatic trans. which I think is odd. 300k on the odm.

  • @MudFatter 116hp

  • @jjearl111 If you drop the clutch and turn the wheels, it will leave a nice mark

  • @jjearl111 yes u can cuz my 22r is bone stock with a 4 in lift and newer 33s and its squeal em pretty good in 1st and a lil in 2nd

  • what everyone else says you need to learn how to drive stick seriously.. one day you might blow your headgasket or piston might go threw the block lol.. jk NO OFFENSE.. well your truck is nice and sounds kool.. i have a 89 22re it's auto but still hauls ass i love my truck i sorta jdm out lol.. well anyways nice truck..

  • fuck man you cant drive worth a shit i have a 91 22re and i got to say you make them look bad, get out of the truck , sell it to someone who can drive

  • has anyone put a doble din in a toyota pickup 83-88 model Btw Nice truck you got there

  • @DexDizzy yea it aint to hard i just cut out the little space under the stouck radio and made two brackets to hold it up

  • dude that sounds awesome sick truck

  • cheers!

  • Disruptor good name what f.... up are you refering to the hop ups... after these current hop ups I can pass a tacoma v6 on mountain hill highways and tow a 26 footer searay boat with the dana 60 rear end install.

  • Some of you guys are funny... this was taken 2 years ago my first standard for one besides my Lotus and it is a shame that I didn't magically learn shiftin' or 4x4ing on day one. Thank God this 22RE is a forgiving truck and has served me well.I can hardly wait to install a LCE long block stroker stage 2. since this old puppy has over 400000 kms on it and many cross country trips.

  • thats a shame i got a 22re and would not f.. it up like that

  • what exactly were you trying to accomplish with this?

  • Ha Ha nice comments guys this was 2 years ago when I bought my first 4x4 and a test run at that after a few mods were done. I was testing the lift kit for body roll and a if any torque increase.

  • Simple Digital Systems fuel management system is computing a false postive in low rpms chokes out alot when starting and smells like gas from exhaust when shutting off motor. Economy 12-15 mpg 22RE!!! :(*

  • the SDS reads a false postive so its a gas burner... once I have it dyno tuned I'll let ya know about power increases...

  • what are the axels underneath it from are they stock ?

  • Stock for now... saving up... either a cromoly independent or a flat out solid axle swap... lookin at richmond powertrax instead of spools or lockers better street use...

my 1973 Pro Street duster I am building was a alcohol dragster but swappin a 440 for a dodge ram 400 witch has spools for the powertrax... give a try away here's its better than posi

  • Gaberson

Unless you willing to spend money on engine upgrades a V8 swap is less expensive

More power with V8 like chevy I've seen ford small blocks no Mopor yet

A 383 Commando Hemi V8 from an old barracuda is probally the best gas option

but if I had to do it over again diesel is thw way to go esp for water crossing.

  • Fuel air ratio is mostly 13.2 to 13.6 on my PLX read out when accelator is 1/4in from the floor floored is 10 to 10.5 ratio totally floored on steeper Hwy inclines.

  • how many mpg did u get stock and now

  • If you know British Columbia BC

From Vancouver up the Coquihalla Toll Hwy.

Steep like 10% incline for most of it.

400km per tank of high octane fuel is pretty much the average - floored.

Previous when stock don't know but probally less. Average speed in 4th and sometimes 3rd maintained an average of 100km/hr or 60miles/hour or more speed limit is 110km per hour.
