For those of us practicing GTD, we don't have a "cluttered inbox". That is the root of the problem. Hotmail isnt going to change that. Once you solve that core issue, Gmail has far better features and is simply more fun to use.

What you must realise is, just because Microsoft became a bit slack while they had no competition doesn't mean they are crap lol, it's amusing to read the die hard Google fan boys comments unaware that it doesn't matter how much better another product is they think Google is better lol. The reality is Microsoft are getting better and better and better everyday now and offer so many things that are better than Google, Hotmail being one of them :).

Hotmail has a lot of spam. Recently i got one that sented infceted links out to all my contacts so they could be infected and so on.

Switched to gmail and couldn't be happier

1st Gmail has amazing spam filters so you would not need to go thought clutter. 2nd there is buzz for social updates, that is even better then what you have. And Gmail has a custom filte/label system you can have it do most anything and that is better then hotmail.

I am organized enough to keep my inbox clean. In Gmail, I use filters and eye-catching colors for labels, so it's very difficult to miss an important message. Also, it's not like I actually joined a new social network everyday, so I don't have to keep updating my filters.

This video sucks. Gmail is WAY better than hotmail. Gmail = instant messaging whereas emails sent from Hotmail could take quite a while to arrive.

it takes 5 seconds to create a filter. The video is making it sound like GMAIL is some retarded service. I've used Yahoo, Hotmail, PoP3 (via outlook, live mail and thunderbird) and GMAIL. I have to say, I preferred GMAIL over all the other services and to me, it was just smarter.

Although I am not taking anything away from the other services. They all have their pros and it all comes down to personal requirements. I get A LOT of mail and GMAIL labels+filters is perfect for the job.
