was up m.locks !! i am from the chi!! sum of these so called stepper's wont even dance with u !! they looking for so andand so and !!and then when he dont want to dance with them that mess it up for all the real stepper's !! SUMTIME ALL PEOPLE WANT TO DO IS LOOK FOR DUMMY !! TO BUY DRINKS !! IF U DONT DANCE!!! LOL I have been dancing for years !! MR.G'S USE TO BE CALLED THE SHEBA !! A LOT OF PEOPLE DONT KNOW THAT !! MISTLOCK !! these suppose to be teachers !!them and there students wont eve look at u if u ur not a part of they clique i thought  this is a community !! half these people aint been around to see reeeal steppa's ,female -tyboo yea it was a female name ty-boo she was a beast !! dirk ,lil mike , lil alfred sum of these people wasn't even born to go to places like the garage ,dungeon,hummingbird it's cool cause they look like robots !! peace !!

@dastepper22. PT 1...........U take it back dn't U? Dirk, Lil Alfred, the Dungeon U wrking mid 70's naming legends and legendary spots. Nothing bad bout Mr.Lock but thats b4 his time. I agree with you these new stepprs ain't got it, very few of em step, most do ballroom fusion (as with Mr.lock). These clowns teaching frown upon ft movmnt so U get the robotic look . They train male students to plant the lft foot and move the rt one forward and one backwards and call it 1,4,7 its ridiculous.

@dastepper22 PT 2 steppin is a dance based in creative ftwork (HENCE THE NAME STEPPIN)while ballrm is based in creative turns. Using this definition its obvious which dance the new school is doing. In the dungeon a male dancer's challenge was to create new ftwork and the female challenge wud be to follow whn the 2 come 2gether U have art. These new kids lack creativity their turns are stolen from othr dances usully salsa, swing, sometimes tango while footwork is kept at a minimum. this shit suks

Mistalocks, can you recommend a good instructor in the Chicagoland area (since you're not here :-( I've found a lot of instructors spend more time showboating instead of teaching and I'm looking for someone that teaches

@mznibrown1980 Hello it would be difficult to tell you based of your description of the problem. People who teach as a hobby often time don't respect the discipline dance instruction needs. If you find a professional instructor that teaches as a vocation they might take care of you better.

That is the problem I have also Mistalocks. Living in LA does not make it easier. Once I make mistake, men will not dance with me anymore. And there are times when the man is wrong. I do my best.

@luvhurtsxoxo, All you can do is your best. Every conversation doesn't go well but we just try harder to get our message across. Partner dancing is a two way conversation that is always worth the exploration. :)

I am the worst when it comes to following. There is some kind of mental block for me. Wish I lived in the area -- I would take lessons for sure.
