If they didn't cop from 70's bands so much, I'd listen to them more. They are doing absolutely nothing new. You want real live bands? Just look up the Allman Brothers.
@BongSabre No, actually - many of them greatly expanded the sound. Pink Floyd, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Allman Brothers, Howlin' Wolf, to name a few. The Black Keys are doing nothing new. You missed the second part of my comment.
@michael72986 Except when compared with the Original tracks those '70s bands covered, with few exceptions, they were devoid of merit and added absolutely nothing. They were covered because the bands enjoyed listening and playing them. And you missed my ENTIRE point which is this: Everybody borrows from everybody and there is nothing new under the sun. Grow up.
i've seen them four times live, three of them being front row. watching dan grind that guitar and patrick wail on those drums does some thing to me......
@slickdrummer nah it's not an airline town and country, it's a supro coronado. They're great guitars. I almost bought one as my first electric but the guy at the store said they sucked and I BELIEVED HIM. worst day ever in hind sight.
@GuitarRock91 actually, i think you're right. i looked at this video a little bit more carefully and noticed that the headstock on his bass is more like the traditional gibson headstock (which rippers have) while grabbers have a more triangle shaped one.
I just love the subtle way he drags out his voice at just the right time! Love it!

@michael72986 Yeah. And if those '70s bands didn't cop from 50's-'60s blues men, I might give a shit about who borrows from who.

@CORiNA1813 It's called an "orgasm" and it's the normal response to hearing the black keys.

I like the fact that it sounds different than the album version. I think this could have used a couple female backup singers though.

@thebarrymiles thats because on the album its dan playin

i think i prefer the studio vers of this song. only because they have set the bar extremely high for live perfomrances.
