I saw this at Wired Magazine's "NextFest" - the motion of the robot seemed even more lifelike than it appears here, really eerie. But the way it responded to speakers was like meeting Dick after the stroke. As if he'd survived, but impaired. It was freaky and sad.

Creepy! Phil would be mortified! He's rolling in his grave! For all his musings on artificial intelligence, PKD never romanticized androids as other SF authors have. He would've hated "Bicentinial Man". The makers of this infernal machine obviously have never read anything by St. PKD or know anything about the man.

The fact that the AI had preferences makes it very exciting to me. In my opinion having likes and dislikes is what makes us "alive" and "Phil" LIKED to look at particular people, it's awesome and a little humbling as well.
