  • so the moral is Yellow Pages lets you find what you're looking for with a lot of effort and ringing around. GOOD JOB!

  • I'm the same markanthonygo my last name actually starts with gogg... So everytime I spell my last name I have people spelling it back in this mans voice. We should start charging...

  • Oh my god,classic commercial.

  • I heard an interview with the actor a few years ago - he says "I've broken Fritz" - he calls the car Fritz because it was made in Germany.

  • broken flaps?

  • G-O-G-G-O!

  • I grew up with this ad and my last name is Go. If I had a $1 for every time a "friend" randomly went up to me only to say "G-O-G-G-O" - I'd be a millionaire a hundred times over.

  • This is awesome, but where's the original "G-O, G-G-O" goggomobil ad?

  • We don't see good ads like this on TV anymore.

  • its a wee ripper!!

  • does anyone remember the yellow pages ad where the fire sprinkler starts dripping, and he uses the yellow pages books to stand up on and try and fix it, and he sets it off, and then his wife said ill call someone....wheres the yellow pages, and he looks down and he is standing on them.....

  • @DJBJ24 yeah i do, the lady in that ad is now on Neighbours, Stephs mum i forget her name right now dammit but yeah she was also on Prisoner many years ago!

  • I never got this commercial as a kid... and I still dont.

  • Odd that fluids would be pouring out under the front of the car; Goggomobils were rear-engined. They wouldn't have oil in the crankcase either; they were 2-strokes.

  • "A broken Fritz". Fritz being slang for German and for the Googgomobil.

  • i dont get this someone please explain to me...

  • @partition00 "The Dart" was a sportier kind of Goggomobil released only in Australia, it's a bit ridiculous looking. Obviously the person on the other end of the line presumed that was the kind of Goggo he was calling about.

  • @partition00 It's the Scottish accent that is mainly the novelty.Aussies liked to copy the bit of the ad where he goes "g...o...g...o" in a corny Scottish accent. Also the word 'gogomobile' is funny.Does that explain it?

  • does anyone have or know where the ad is that goes like "Dennis" and then "befoore ya start"

  • A broken what's it? Fretz?

  • lmao

  • haha yellow pages commercials are the best :) Too bad commercials arent like this anymore..

  • Telecom/Telstra certainly made same very impactful ads in the 90s, and the phrases of those ads made it into our lexicon.

    e.g.

"GOGGO","That'll be the phone Reg","Not Happy Jan","We do Chucky, we do"

I'd like to know who their advertising company is.

  • and who can forget "brendan! spoon....!" (campbell's chunky ad)

  • I saw this ad for the first time when I was six... I still have a laugh whenever I see it :)

  • Best ad ever made

  • The most repeated ad in the schoolyard of the early 90's.

  • There was a girl in my P.S class. Her name was Georgina, but people called her, 'GG'.

We were also taught basic sign language in P.S. (one of the teachers used to teach the deaf)...so being little turds, we would repetitively say, 'G O G G O' and sign it to 'GG', who absolutely hated it.

Yellow Pages have done some of the greatest Australian advertisements ever.

  • @Brendanvio yeah, me being one of those kids....

  • Tommy Dysart is a good actor with a nice voice.

  • how many times did we hear at school, "G-O G-G-O" in a dismal attempt at a Scottish accent?

  • ITS gotta be Shannons!

  • I've never known from day one..

a broken...? "freps" ?? I've thought it to be "thread"..

  • its true thank u

  • yeah, there was a longer version wasn't there..they usually play those in cinimas and trade shows I think...

  • yeah wikkid ad!!!

  • Thank you youtube! I've been trying to tell someone about this ad, but being Canadian they just didn't get me! Hooray!!

  • one of the best ads ever. My husband and I reckons its the best ad ever!!! we still spell goggo, and the kids think were mad!!! they don't make em like they used to

  • Been ages since ive seen this ad. Thx

  • I miss the Goggomobil ads, and remember the stickers on the cars, my other car is a gogomobil

  • you get 50/100.. only because you forgot one of the all important G's.... ;-)

  • I don't get it... definitely an Aussie thing.

  • My surname is Foggo and this video has made my life a bit of a joke. I do love it though, makes it funny everytime I spell my name!

  • very cleaver!

  • HURRAH! I finally found it!!!

so good to see this again :)

  • Haha i remember this i always say it at school but no-one never kows wat it is lmao

  • 15 years later, and this guy is doing car insurance commercials... making references to the goggomobile!

One of the all time classic ads.

  • Wow. I havent seen this commercial in years. What a classic. Comedy shows in Aussy are still taking the p** out of this ad. 100% Classic.

  • A definate Aussie classic. Thanks alancramer!
