  • Well done mate, thanks for the walk through. I'm battling like mad to get my home server all set up...and I'm pretty sure I'm doing it all wrong. It looks a lot like NT4 my end......which isn't at all how it looks on everyone else's system....including yours.

    Anyways, thanks again for posting.

  • This is one plank of finally integrating WHS and VMC a little better. However, you still need to copy your recorded TV to the WHS manually.

    I know there's an addin for WHS that does this, but what's the simplest way of automatically copying the DVR-MS files to the WHS - is it just to schedule a .bat file with a copy command in it? (I'm going to try this later).

    If the auto-copy works, then a VMC can finally be run from a small SSD (30gb would be fine) and all the media could be held on WHS.
