@burmkilla Yes and no; they found a soft sport (too much water in the dirt), therefore they had to dig up the wet dirt and get it dry. When you have dry dirt and a heavy thing (a car or machine) you can make a jump almost 100% hard immediately. And thus, 100% rideable right away. :)

Btw; if theres too much water/moist in the dirt, itll never ever get hard/compact

does anyone know why they heat the dirt when they are making the jumps. ive seen it done a few times but have never under stood the purpose

I'm pretty sure they do it to soften it up.

There's only two reasons for this and only one makes sense for dirt jumps. (This is coming from somebody that works in construction everyday.)

1. Remove contaminates from the soil.

2. To dry the soil out. (This one doesn't make sense for building dirt ramps, because if you dry the dirt out you'll be left with sand. (Sand is of course no good for building these jumps, cause you can't get compaction with it).
