This version of pacman is a bit weird. The ghosts often go to the same direction, following each others, which makes them a lot easier to avoid.

You're kinda missing the fact that i'm CAUSING them to stick together (as much as possible at least). In order to get further in this game, you have to group them for easier control, and also to get all the 1600's. One more thing: this is MS. Pac-Man, not "pacman"! :)

@TheChrcol Yes i do know how they (will) behave, their A.I. is very limited because it is was programmed in 1979/80 :) Red will try to shorten the horizontal OR vertical distance from MsPac - whichever of those 2 distances is greater, has priority; and because of that, you can control which direction he takes IF red isn't too close to mspac.

In this online version, yes there is an "invisible level" 142. Normally on the official arcade machine AND on the 20th Anniversary MsPac/Galaga machine (and also in MAME), the final board is 141, after which the game usually resets or freezes.

In their chase phase, Blinky directly targets Ms. Pacman, Pinky targets the tile 4 tiles ahead of Ms. Pacman, Inky targets the tile on the opposite side of Ms. Pacman as Blinky, and Sue feigns attacks, only to shy away as she gets close to Ms. Pacman.

In their scatter phase, all the ghosts move towards their home points. (When Blinky is in "Cruise Elroy" mode, his home point is Ms. Pacman).

But I can't figure out where their home points are

Nope on all the official versions (at least the arcade ones), level 141 is the final level, due to an oversight in the original programming. After that the game will reset; it will do the same on the version you are referring to, called the 20th Anniversary machine or "Ms. Pac-Man / Galaga: Class of 1981". Anyway the emulation version in my video does not employ the "watchdog" subroutine that would normally cause the game to reset, hence an unexpected level 142. ;)

@RoflTuber As far as I know, there isn't any difference between these later levels. It's similar to Pacman where once you reach a certain level that the difficulty stops rising and remains the same for every maze until the kill screen. I think that this game just alternates between the two mazes until the kill screen. That's just what I know. Jelle could probably tell you better than I could.

Yes it's the same as Pac-Man in terms of difficulty maxing out at level 21. Even all the blue-time increments are the same as in Pac-Man, i.e. shorter & shorter blue-time up to level 5, then longer on level 6 (equal to L2) and down to 1 second on level 9, then longer on level 10 (equal to L2) down to 1 second on levels 12+13, then longer on level 14 (equal to L4) down to 0 seconds on level 17. Then on level 21 Pac and MsPac slow down a gear to make things a little more difficult. This stays the same for the remainder of the game. The game freaks out at level 134 because of a glitch in one of its subroutines, so you could get a normal "Chase" board (red maze), but it's usually upside-down; or you'll suddenly get infinite blue-time, stuff like that. L141 is normally the max before it resets...

MsPac i have the world record in MAME, but on Arcade i'm a close 3rd (hey the fruit's random, ya know? :P)

I didn't quite get a "perfect score" on Pac-Man (yet), currently i'm at 3,333,000 (in MAME) and have never submitted a score for Arcade.

On Pac-Man Plus i have the world record on Arcade, and also on MAME (TG).

Super Pac-Man the world record holder for Arcade is and will always be Les Martin; i do however have the world record in MAME.

Jr. Pac-Man and PacMania are probably the hardest of the Pacs to master; in the near future i will be trying to master JrPac, but probably not PacMania.

There are some other Pac games out there, like Pac-Man CE, Pac & Pal, etc, but i either haven't got into them yet or don't like them :)

A 'perfect' game in Ms. Pac-Man is not really possible, because of the pseudo-random fruit generator, which is non-controllable (by humans anyway). If you received only bananas after level 7, then you could get 1.9 million. Anyway the current world record is 933,580 officially (988,000 UNofficially), and i'm in 3rd place with 919,820 (953,080 UNofficially) on TwinGalaxies' all-time list on the arcade-track.

Canonically, Mrs. Pac Man is not recognised by Namco. Engineers At Bally Games Believed they could write a better version of Pac Man, with random patterns, better Mazes, harder fruits and a diffrent protragonist than the original. Midway (The company that ported Pac Man to the US) didn't know any better, so they ported the game. Namco was steamed about this, and severed the agreement and suing Bally.

Namco eventually snapped the rights from Bally and continued to integrate the two.

Some programmers ARE actually working on an A.I.-player (Artificial Intelligence), but it's really hard to program; The Human Element is pretty important in a maze-type game such as Pac/MsPac.
