  • Is this plane a 4 channel plane? (with rudder control) and is it okay for a beginner if I get a simulator first?

    Thanks!

  • @mechanicalpants It is 4-channel. For beginners we recommend starting with the HobbyZone Champ if you want to start in the Ultra Micro world.

  • hey is this harder to fly than the UM T-28?

  • Hi, my mustang's motor pulses, it won't fly the gearbox is fine and so are the motor connections. Please help.

  • hi i want the RC plz. i tock the plaine from amazon

and ther is no RC withe it

  • Can I fly this at winter when there is snow?

  • @SCAREDBANANA LiPo batteries really don't like the cold. Will it hurt the plane, no, but you may notice reduced performance.

  • @Pattmupo - mine did the same thing.. Usually means there is a problem with the ESC. I just sent mine in to Parkzone, and they sent me a new one for free...that's what I recommend you do. Or, try putting in a new motor and/or ESC. Good luck!

  • 100 bucks is a good deal for this i might get one

  • My motor revs up high when i give it full throttle, then cuts out in a second, it just keeps doing it over and over. Theres no steady rev. All the flaps and aelerons work fine.................................Someone Help PLeas!

  • make a zero

  • make a zero

  • Thanks i'll try tommorow

  • Help please! Im thinking of buying a ember 2 but i wont if i cant fix the problem 2 comments down!

  • @MrRockoutloud

Im 14 years old and have put my stang

Through its paces havent had to replace a part till now just a servo had 3 balls to the wall crashes to the nose and havent even had to replace a prop!

Although my dad took it out without me knowing once and forced the battery in the wrong way and the battery caught fire

    (he's stupid)

  • Today i Received a new servo for this plane and put it in the plane and it still doesnt work

Its the elevator servo so its connected to the board i think it has a bad conection beacuse the servo goes all the way to the back (up) position

I tried cleaning the connection with rubbing alchohal but it still doesnt work

    Thanks

  • @zjwflippers I would suggest giving our product support staff a call at 877-504-0233, they would be able to help you out.

  • with in a couple of flights the flimsy wings broke off. i didn't even crash it! the battery won't even charge now.... a waste of my money, but you people may have different opinions...

  • @MrRockoutLoud I would give our product support staff a call at 877-504-0233 as the P-51 is pretty robust. Mondays are typically very high volume, however you can leave call back info and they will get back to you ASAP

  • Just got mine today and my propeller is pointed a bit to the right, is this normal?

  • Thanxfor they response I known u guys are very busy and love your reviews, how bout they txt from they regular sr, not they 120, could that work with the mustang or can use recomend a simular 4 ch plane that would work, really want to start flying with alerons asap

  • Still waiting for a response to witch tx I can use my tx from my sr 120 or they sr on have bolth can't order till you respond please really donte want another txt if I don't need one thanks

  • @mark350320 Sorry, I have been out of the office for a few days. No, the 120 SR's transmitter is not recommended for airplane use. You can always go to bindnfly.com/CompatibleProducts/ to check and see transmitter cross compatibility.

  • you guys should make an Ultra Micro Concorde.

  • Is this plane made of that indestructible foam like Airhog has or regular foam.

  • @AgentMorris94 mine has just regular foam but the body is very durable the wings and elevator and rudder...not so much.

  • I really want to get this plane but I am waiting for my DX6i with DSM2 technology. I flew my friends for a little and I was wondering if you had any tips for flying it good

  • @camberto5 Turn the dual-rates down a bit for your initial flights and add in about 15-20% expo on aileron and elevator until you get comfortable.

  • Can I use the tx I have for my sr 120, I also have a blade sr, which tc should I use(any one plz respond) or should I just get the ready to fly one

  • Is it ok to upgrade to a bigger battery, say 150 to 160 mah?

  • @pikapoketpu Yes it is, but remember a heavier battery will affect your CG so you may need to move the battery a bit to get the flight characteristics right.

  • Would you recommend this plane for a good Champ flier? I can do loops, hammerheads, fly inverted, high-altitude flying (about 400 feet), touch and go's, and extremely low altitude flying (within inches of the ground). I can't do rolls, though.

    Thanks!

    -Sean

  • Would someone who is good with the t-28 have any trouble flying this?

  • @rcbif101 Nope,. I think you'd be just fine

  • @HorizonRCdotCom can i use the tx from the blade sr or the sr 120 i have bolth..wich woukd u recomend

  • @horizonrcdotcom can i use msr batt on this or at least my 4 port charger?

  • After the batteries are charged, how long can they sit out for with out having to be recharged?

  • @hbomb347 ya thats one question i always have epecially with these small batteries you can only stay with them in the air for about 6 to 10 minutes

  • When i try and do a back flip it loses power and cant finish the loop. The engine has turned off when attempting also. what should i do?

  • @hbomb347 It should loop without any problem. What sort of battery are you using?

  • @HorizonRCdotCom

The same battery it came with Li Polymer Battery 3.7 120mAh

  • is this a good for a beginner?

  • @HecticJ9 I'd recommend the HobbyZone Champ for a beginner, however this would be a good second plane.

  • MATT ANDREN PLEASE MAKE A MICRO STRYKER. THEYLL SELL LIKE CRAZY!!

  • PARKZONE PLEASE IF YOU COULD HEAR ME. MAKE A MICRO STRYKER. ILL BUY 10 OF THEM!!!!

  • what is the differenece between using a dx6i and a blade sr's 6 channel radio?

  • @dvonlangen The DX6i has a 10-model memory, digital sub-trims, exponential and dual rates, and a lot more other programming features. To the best of my knowledge the SR's radio is not a full-range transmitter where the DX6i is.

  • My dad crashed our p-51 in a tree 3 weeks ago

Today it fell out and everything is still working.

    It even survived the rain!

  • Mine nose dives everytime it truns am I doing something wrong?

  • @GFLYYER At what point is it nose-diving? On takeoff? Landing? Or it just flies with a nose-down attitude?

  • @HorizonRCdotCom When it turns it dives.

  • @GFLYYER That's normal with any plane, Just pull back on the stick at the same time you're turning and you should maintain altitude.

  • how much????

and would it be ok for a beginner?? plz reply

  • @aussiebloke1914 It is $99.99. I'd recommend the HobbyZone Champ first to help you learn the basics but this would be a good 2nd plane.

  • @aussiebloke1914 I learned on this airplane. No problem. Just learn the rudder last....and learn when it's 100% dead outside...

  • I feel I mastered the HZ Champ is the Ultra-Micro P-51 a suitable upgrade ? If not what do guys recommend ?

  • The wheel in the back is so bad! It destroys the plane every time i try's to land!

  • can the rtf transmitter that comes in the rtf, be used with the other micro series planes by parkzone?

  • @Theturbo6guy Yes, however it's not recommend for planes like the Sukhoi or the Sukhoi XP.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom how much wind can it stand up to

  • @RCboy221 About 5-8 MPH

  • is this better than the j 3 cub or is the j 3 cub better

  • I got this baby today, didn't get to fly it yet, though.

So looking forward to finally fly. :)

  • What are the suggested expo and dual rate settings for this plane, both in low rates and high rates

  • @guitarman1375 Per Matt Andren:

High rate is 100% (basically a fresh model memory with no adjustment)

Low rate is 70% of high rate (DX5e settings)

Expo I would start with 30% on ail and 20% on elevator and rudder on high rate.

Half those expo settings for low rate.

  • Comment removed

  • @MegaEmil97 Yes you can

  • Do you know if they are going to come out with an ultra-micro spitfire? i would buy one immediately!

  • @rurikia It could but it might feel a bit confined. It all depends on your piloting skills. I think you'd be ok flying this after flying the Commander 2.

  • would the e flight remote from the blade msr bind to this or no?

  • @Dirttbike4life Yes it would

  • i have spent a few months on my E-Flite Apprentice and my AMA instructor said I was ready to move up to an EDF (which is what I want to get into). Would I be able to handle this plane? Thank you.

  • when the guy asked why doesnt it have retractable gear? he totaly screwed the parkzone dude. still a helpfull review im getting this today!!

  • Would you recommend this to someone who is moving up from the super cub? Because I would like to use ailerons.

  • @snickerguy7 Probably should be ok.

  • @snickerguy7 Yes! I just bought this exact Mustang after using a micro Cub for just two months! Take it easy, because it is faster and more complicated than the Champ/Cub (being a four channel).

    Happy landings!

  • @snickerguy7

@snickerguy7 Yes! I just bought this exact Mustang after using a micro Cub for just two months! Take it easy, because it is faster and more complicated than the Champ/Cub (being a four channel).

    Happy landings!

  • would you recomend it for someone who hasn't flone much but can pick somthing up pritty quick.

  • @fudgemonkey58 I would recommend the HobbyZone Champ first as a better beginner plane.

  • Can you use a DX5E

  • @SuperChuckles13 Yes you can.

  • if i can fly a e flight blade msr good can i fly this plane good? and can i use the msr transmitter with the BNF? thanks i have never flown planes before just helis.

  • can u use a 2 . 4 g on the bind and fly

  • @MrThetimmy1010 As long as the transmitter has Spektrum DSM2 Technology in it then yes.

  • I bought the BNF version yesterday, what a FUN plane! I love it.

    Flying it with my DX5e.

  • Can you fly two RTF versions of this model together??

  • @guitarman1375 Sure, they just need to be bound to different radios and you're fine.

  • Is this a good beginer airplane?

  • @iMOCHAS96 I'd recommend the HobbyZone Champ over this for a beginner. This would be a great follow up airplane though.

  • i got the Futaba T6EX 2.4G FASST and i am wondering if i can use it with this BNF mode?

  • @lilljeklop It is compatible with Spektrum DSM-equipped thransmitters and modules only.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom can u use a 2 . 4 g to bind

  • Can you convert the RTF P-51 to the BNF version? If so how can I do that?

  • @kurtzy04 Between the BNF and RTF there's no difference in the plane itself so there's no conversion necessary.

  • I just got my P51 mustang micro BNF

can i use higher than 120mah of battery?

  • @dan121A You can try the E-flite EFLB1501S 150mAh pack

  • can i use my transmitter that came with my cx3?

  • @gasioman It will bind but I am pretty sure you'll need to play around with the dip switches under the front panel.

  • So you think the P-51 would be better since it can turn tighter? Can the Cub fly slower?

  • @lazor222 It's not how tight it can turn it's just how..crisp it feels around center I'd say. I think the Cub has a little more lift designed into it so it should be able to fly a bit slower.

  • I want this or the cub. Which do you think would be able to fly best in a 1/2 acre space?

  • @lazor222 This will be a bit more responsive than the Cub, overall speed and flight times will be about the same.

  • Does it come with the same stock transmitter as the Blade MSR?

  • @mobistwo I believe it is

  • Just one question I wish to throw out there. Is Motor Pulsing a sign of an LVC on this model?

The Manual just says that the speed controller will reduce power to the motor, but doesn't specifically say how.

  • @CnCKing Yes it is

  • Are there any special dip switch settings for the Blade CX2 tranmiter with this plane?

  • @rcflighter I honestly don't know, I would consult the manual for the CX2 myself. If there's nothing there contact product support.

  • Dou you guys think that it would be a good i dea for a guy like me who flies helicopters like the MSR to buy one of thees having basic knowlede on how to fly planes?

  • @mobistwo It would be ok, but the HobbyZone Champ might be a better starting place.

  • Question:

If I were to only use elevator & rudder, would this plane fly like a UltraMicro J3 Cub?

I thought I would learn to fly like that... than when I flew enough to know how to fly... I can start using the ailerons? That way I don't have to buy a new airplne.

    What is your thoughts?

  • Thank you for taking the time to watch my video and let me know!

  • can you use the controller that came with the blade mcx

  • @monkeyraper234 Yes you can.

  • Can you watch my latest video and tell me if you think I'm ready for this plane the plane in the video is full stock mini super cub decals were hand done by me and I put the throws all the way up.

  • @Halo9002 The elementary one? Looks like you should be able to, especially they way you were able to keep the Mini Cub tacked into the wind and just kinda hover it there. Now keep in mind the UM P-51 is quite a bit lighter and cannot handle the winds you were in with that Mini Super Cub.

  • Does anyone know the range on this thing?

  • @Nevanator7 It comes with a low-power transmitter so the range isn't huge, but it's enough to fly in a front yard, inside a gym or in an armory.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom oh okay is the transmitter upgradeable?

  • @Nevanator7 You can use any DSM2-equipped transmitter with it.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom okay thanks soo much and one more thing how does this plane work with FPV cameras? i want to make videos of the plane as if you were in the cockpit thats why i wanted to know about the transmitter thank you!

  • with the bnf

can you use the control that came with the blade cx2 (LP5DSM)

  • @blacklight671 Technically you can but I believe you need to change some of the dip switches under the front panel.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thank you :p

  • What's the flight time on a 120mAh? And can I use an E-flite 150mAh 1S 3.7V 12C Li-Po Battery with it? If so, how much extra flight time will it give me?

I know the 120mAh gives a higher 14C discharge in comparison to the 150mAh, hence why I ask. What would you recommend?

  • @CnCKing I'd say 8-12 minutes is pretty reasonable to expect. You can use the larger 150mAh pack and it will get you a few more minutes of flight.

  • omg the plane is soooooo much fun, im a complete noob and i can fly it pretty decently, ive also crashed a few times a full throttle and the only thing that gets weak is the vertical stable, witch is really eazy to make and replace, i recommend this plane to anyone, really unless im just really really good witch i highly doubt.....watch my vid of first few flights.

    thanks jimi

  • @panzersherek sorry forgive me for the spelling, i failed english and grammer lmao

  • I might buy this... I live in Florida and I have a park in walking distance. I never flew an RC plane before, only at the simulators at the hobby shop a few times. Sadly the hobby shop went out of business. Can i order this plane off line? If yes, where? Is this a good beginner plane just for fun?

  • @TheFlight17 You can order it straight from our website. Simply go to the Horizon Hobby website and search for the PKZ3600 and that's the RTF version.

  • Is this plane good for beginners?

  • @TheFlight17 It's ok, there are better first time planes like the new HobbyZone Champ (HBZ4900) but you can teach yourself to fly with the UM-P51

  • Thats cool but I like the 4 Channel because i want this pane to last me when i want to just a few flips here and there. How much are those remotes that bind to the UM-P51? Are they only the Dx6i.? How much from your website because I don't know which one to get?

  • @TheFlight17 Any Spektrum DSM2-equipped transmitter can bind to a BNF plane. I use a DX6i myself, the DX7 works well too. The RTF is $129.99, the BNF is $99.99. You can get a DX6i Radio-only for $149.99, SPMR6600 is the P/N.

  • hi i have this plane and am really good at flying it.. do you think i would now be ready to take the next step and get the bigger parkzone version???

  • @AntoniWigley1994 I would go to the T-28 first, then the larger P-51D.

  • mine came with a 110 mah batt

  • I already have a micro 4ch helicopter and I was kind of looking to get into planes would this or the ultra-micro J-3 cub 3ch be best for a beginner like me?

  • How do i install a new wing on mine? I just totalled the left wing.

  • hello, i just got this plane, how long does it fly on full throttle on a fully charged battery?

  • I don't have the plane yet, but i'm going to get it. I have done my research and i think that you can fly for about 3 minutes until battery starts to die

  • could i use my 90 mah battery on it or not?

  • You could but you wouldn't want to. I don't think those have a sufficient C-rating and you may damage them by using them in the P-51. Plus your flight time would be drastically reduced.

  • so will the e-flight blade msr transmitter bnf with the micro p-51?? if so would it be good to fly it with that transmitter. thanks johnathon

  • Yes you can bind it and it will work ok with this plane. You'd probably get more out of the plane with a DX6i but you'll be successful with the mSR transmitter.

  • i have a question plz reply i have a striker and a super cub and i can fly thoes well would this be good for my next plane i have a msr heli also and its great i would get the bnf p-51 i ike the minis and also would the f4u corsair be a good step also comparing to the planes i have and can fly well would i have a problem flying any one of theses and wich would be the best to get plz reply thanks frome johnathon

  • If you can fly those two I would say that you shouldn't have any problem with the P-51.

  • what about the f4u corair i really want it but i dont wanna buy somethig so awsome and crash and burn it due to lack of flying exp. but looks intemidate a little im 23 yrs old and i was just wondering thanls

  • The Corsair might be a little easier to fly in the air but the landings might be a little more challenging with the tail-dragger configuration.

  • Is this a good beginner plane?

    thanks

  • Not ideal. Since it's a smaller plane everything just happens faster. And also just because it's a smaller plane doesn't mean it takes a little amount of skill to fly. If you want to stay with an Ultra-Micro sized plane I'd go with something like the J-3 Cub or even the Vapor first. If you're open to something bigger you can't do better than the HobbyZone Super Cub.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom

Ive had the hobbypeople ultra lightning and got it up and around would this be a good next plane?

  • I'm not familiar with the Hobby People plane but if you have some previous flight experience this would be a good second or third plane.

  • Does a futaba 6ex 2.4ghz work with it?

  • Na, Futaba wont work with it as it uses a Spektrum RX and operates in a different way to Futaba FASST, the only TX's that will bind are the Spektrum and JR variants as these use the same DSM2 technology.....

  • Correct. However you might want to check out one of Spektrum's modules for Futaba radios. Might be a decent alternative for you.

  • What kind of run/charge times do you get with the stock charger and battery? Thanks

  • Between 8-12 minutes, depending on how you fly it.

  • Thanks, also, how long does it take to charge? Thanks

  • i wish it was cheaper

  • I've got an RTF version of this mustang. Can i use the transmitter that is included with it to fly the sukhoi, and any others that may be released in the future? Do i just need to bind it?

  • While technically it will work we advise people not to use that transmitter with the Sukhoi. To get the most out of the Sukhoi you're going to want a radio that has more programming features than what this stock transmitter has.

  • I just started flying on this plane, I'm getting pretty good at it. :D

Great little plane, you can land/takeoff on a cricket pitch!

  • great review... where could i get a whole airframe(wheels and all) without the electronics?

  • @1legofreak

If you go to the parkzone website you can get the code numbers for every part of it individually. You can then use that to order the airframe exclusively. I don't know if u can order directly from the website, but many other web-shops will have those parts or you may even get them ordered in for you.

  • Parkzone does a great job in advertising what the plane will do, If you read the manual there are sugested throws and setup tips, I found out that if you adjust the control horn per the Manual for the ailerons that anything over 70% on my DX6i makes the servo bind, the instrustion do tell you this also, there production video says most pilots should set low rates at 50 and high rates at 100 might be a problem.

  • I just got one of these myself and had one question before flying... I'll call it "chater" (i mean the noise the plane makes when the battery is in) is it normal to always sound like something's going on when you're not touching the controls? also, what's the range? :)

  • i personally think that the sukhoi is much easier to fly in a smaller area because it is much slower and more agile. but they are right about the mustang being more dosile but like i said it is much faster

  • Horrizen I Really need ur help i got 250 dolars for xmas i have already got into big flying i biught a rtf alfa 40 from u guys but some tiems i dont wanna go to the feild and i wanna buy one micro and i like doing tricks i lve in a small negbor hood and i wan soemthign that flys nice smoth wont get stuck i na tree lots of power and good battrty lfe thanks :)

  • could you use the transmitter from the rtf version in planes like the p-51d bl mustang or only for the vapor or ember

  • would you recomend this over the skyfly 2?

i want to learn how to fly my nitro plane and i want to start with an electric park flier.

  • this is my first 4 channel plane , before i had an amber 2 (still have it and love it) I'm flying for only a few days and not having much problem keeping it in the air

a good trick to learn your first 4 channel is to fly hi enough to fix mistakes, large area w/o trees but tall grass will brake any crash really good.
