  • you're sexy

  • sushi mermaid.. never tried it. Did you know wasabi is a plant?

  • Freak

  • So quick question um is the brown part like the actual cat tail edible?

  • @CrusaderofChrist111

You can eat it when it is immature and not brown. There is a youtube video on that by someone else. He's correct, make sure you pick them where the water is clean, no beavers, a running stream of known clean water.

  • @icimblind Thank you for the response

  • @CrusaderofChrist111 yes, you can eat that. There is a video here on youtube where someone bbq's it like a hotdog and eats it with mustard. You'll have to look for it though.

  • @artsychic2000 I hate to break this to you, the guy that your talking about that BBQ and eats the top of the cat tail like a Hotdog is FAKE, If you look close at the end when they are eating it, it is really a CORN DOG

  • Am I the only one, who came here because of Cattails from Plants vs. Zombies ? =))

  • Yeeeeeeeeee-Haw!

  • Hi

Do you know of any books on edible wild plants in Greece?

Any help will be much appreciated.

  • Well heck! No wonder it taste like cucumbers, you put real ones into the salad. :)

  • like the whole video and love the mermaid video

  • Good to know.

  • mmm yummy!

  • That was blissful. I learned something new in a very entertaining way. I love non sequitur humor. Went down like watermelon juice. Thank you.

  • well, i must be doing something wrong, when i harvest mine( they have bloomed, so they have the brown "hot dog" on them) but when i get down to the rootstock its all woody and not soft and tender...so what am i doing wrong?...harvesting them too late?...

  • thanks for info. sorry, but the mermaid part wasn't funny...

  • I would eat the mermaid.

  • Loved the video. Can't wait to get out and try some foraging. It's funny I stumbled upon your video when trying to figure out what miner's lettuce looks like, because I'm in the process of reading Green for Life.

  • So i'm assuming that cattail is a hallucinogen, and may turn me into a merman?

    gettin' some

  • @palomine12 haha that's hilarious.

  • Note to self: Don't eat water iris.

  • i think you can also use the cattail pollen to mix with water and make dough....

  • sucks to be sergei...he doesn't eat fish (LOL).

  • Cool Video......But you should really try curling your fingers in while you use a chef knife......I'm pretty sure Cattail Salad loses it's flavor with human fingers mixed in it.......

  • awesome!

  • LMAO hot dog plants

  • Lol! You're so funny Sergei!

  • Hello Sergei,

I love your videos. It would be great if you had your own show on the Food Channel! Please keep up the good work!

  • Nancy, you make one hell of a mermaid! PS: How did you not drown swimming in that costume?
