MEIKO sounds so great in this song! It's not as nasally like some songs I've heard from her. This is by far one of the best songs I've heard from her. Good job to KAITO as well, he sounds almost close to an actual human. *clap clap* Great cover, beautiful~

Even though I love KaitoxMiku, I must admit KaitoxMeiko is amazing in this song! Kaito and Meiko always sing such beautiful orient and old songs, while Miku and Kaito sing modern songs very well! Now I love both of them!

@xeyeyannuhx Basically, Meiko and Kaito are a couple, but for some reason Kaito has to leave for awhile so Meiko waits for him to return. While waiting she dies and Kaito doesn't know. Oblivious, he returns to the place Meiko lives and meets up with a demon. He kills the demon and realizes that it is Meiko. She has been set free through death, but he is now alone without her.

Whenever I hear Meiko used like this, it's always such a delight. My jaw dropped when she started singing: such a lovely, womanly voice! She nails it! The producer handles her voice so well~ I had always rather liked Ruko's cover of this song best, but Meiko.... Meiko OWNS this song.

@TheArticBird : About your theory, if we go by your theory it will not match up, because in 1:49 *a bit difficult to see*, we can see that Meiko actually died (shown in the glimpse of funeral pic*. It's prolly that Meiko and Kaito at the beginning is indeed lovers, than Kaito left the place *for reason unknown*. Meiko died while waiting for him; thus coming back to meet Kaito in the demon form. Kaito not knowing it's her killed her, and so on.

Going by the Rin/Len lyrics... I sum it up as "Even if a rose withers away that summer, it is still dear to me." Both PVs are vaguely connected to the lyrics.

It makes an interesting story if Meiko was a demon of that rose garden/area. Meiko has a short life or time on the earth because she can only live /appear during the summer (like the roses). Or... Kaito not knowing that asking Meiko to pluck a rose is the same as asking to pluck a part of herself.

I think I get the story for this PV. Basically, Kaito and Meiko start out as lovers. They become closer as the vid on. Notice though that at one point near the end, Meiko has horns. She turns out not to be human. Frightened, Kaito takes his sword and slays her, but instantly regrets doing so. Thats how I see it..^^;

@matamune09 I am assuming that from the mv Meiko and Kaito were lovers, but then Kaito left Meiko (for war most likely since he's carrying a sword as he leaves). Meiko dies waiting for Kaito to return. When Kaito returns, instead of meeting his lover he meets a demon. Without realizing the demon is Meiko he kills the Demon, which releases Meiko from the world so she can rest in peace, but Kaito grieves for her death and his ignorance.
