I understand you were excited to check out this piece of tech, but geeze, would it have killed you to drop $20 on a tripod? You keep dropping the camera away before it even gets a chance to focus!
apple is all about fucking marketing and stupid people buying it, the best androids mobile phones are way better then any iphone, so do the tablets, and I don't even need to say about the PCs, it's a matter of time to apple to go down... because you have to be really stupid to buy something worth 1000 for 3000, just because it looks pretty...
OMG' The grandpa of the smartphones more than 20 years and works, is more cool that iPhone or Android devices lol - OPD' El abuelo de los smartphones más de 20 años y trabajo, es mejor que iPhone y Android xD
Man this is a trip. Can you imagine owning one of these in the early 90's. Way ahead of its time! Think about it. Only recently (in the past ten years) phones have really taken off. E-mail, internet, office files, etc. Even full touch screen phones have only started becoming popular in the past six years. Exemplary!
My dad had one (he told me he got it free as long as he would give feedback).
As I recall the two biggest problems were in cold weather (we lived in Atlanta so semi-cold) the touchscreen didn't work at all, and you couldn't see the screen out side as it had poor contrast.
It's funny looking back almost 20 years later and seeing this big, bulky phone but for its time back in 1992, it would have been revolutionary. Remember most people didn't even have computers and internet. In many ways, modern smartphones like Windows Mobile, iPhone and Android devices have adopted largely from archaic devices like the IBM Simon.
@vacuumlover1 As in the App Store or Android Market? No. It was released back in 1992 though it did have apps like a calculator, calendar, world clock, games, email, etc.
Looking at the past tells us a lot about the future. Look at today's mobile phone concepts.. they tend to be things such as projector-phones, flexible phones etc. Which of those is the modern Simon, which will shape the future's smartphones (and eventually, normal phones)?

Hated to have to downgrade to a Motorola when my corp
standardized on that. It just paled in comparison.
